Letting people go is NOT the right answer. From FS alone there has been a large sum of money in stuff stolen with no luck of getting it back. I am one of those people, I would not even consider pressing charges and possibly sueing for cost of items stolen. Some times the idiots need to learn from the mistakes that they make. Paying for the damage they cause to his car, body/turbo/labor, is just a start, I think they need to meet Big BUBBA and drop the soap!

The appropriate thing to do is to provide all of the available information to the police department. As others have said, who knows what other unsolved cases this additional information may help with? Maybe there are 10 other guys these kids have hit that aren't on FS and may have a chance of getting their stuff back if the kids are investigated?
Also, it's important that the penalty for theft is more severe than simply having to return the stolen items. Otherwise, there's no disincentive of steal beacuse more often than not, you won't get caught, so overall you come out ahead by trying to steal as often as possible.
Also, at this point, I'd suggest not discussing any specifics of this matter any further in public. You should get print-outs of anything you think may be relevant to the "case" that are currently in electronic form. You should write down everything that happened, every conversatino you've had. You should try and get written statements from other people involved ASAP. The longer you wait the more likely you are to forget something important. You may want to consult a lawyer to make sure you do everything correctly.

However it is 100% out of line to call someones boss and say they are a thief. Whether they did it or not, what if someone called your boss?
Where do you draw the line? Leave it to the police and let them deal with it.

I have a feeling they're going to uncover a lot of ppl's stuff that has been taken from what i've heard...and i'm pretty sure just zac's stuff alone was well over $500...which would be a felony IIRC, run him through the courts and get as much out of it as you can, teach that little shit a lesson.
