programs???

does anyone know of a program for editing videos? I was messing around with movie maker and i am really dissapointed with the program. just wondering if anyone has had good luck with any?

Also my media player sucks. i don't know if it's just mine but i think i have the latest one and i have a new computer and ever since i got the comp it takes like 30 seconds to switch songs. does anyone know of a program that plays mp3 format songs??

Pinnacle Studio, Ulead Video Studio, Roxieo Easy Media Creator and Cyberlink Power Direct are but a few. Only thing with these programs is you'll pay upwards of $100 to $130 for them, but if your looking to save a few bucks there's usually plenty of torrents floating around the net, you just have to look. Also, movie editing software like this uses a fair amount of memory so you might want to take that into consideration.
As far as playing MP3s, pretty much any media program should play them. If your WMP doesn't play them then you probably want to check things out, you might have a virus or something, I've found that sometimes just doing a system restore will clear things up. I can't guarantee it'll work for you though. You could also try downloading a codecs pack, Try K-Lite, it'll let you play damn near anything you can think of. I myself downloaded the VLC media player which also plays pretty much anything you can think of.
Both will let you watch "Matroska" files. There super compressed files, you can fit a 2 hour movie in a little as 450MB, although most average around 700-750MB, with virtually no loss in picture or sound, pretty kick ass. If you do a torrent search for Matroska you should find quite a few movies, alot of them are newer releases.

i've tries system restore and it doesn't help. My WMP has been doing this since day one when i got the comp new form dell. thanks for the links i'll check them out.

i downloaded the media player classic. it kinda sucks that the playlist is a whole seperate page but i plays songs great and easy to use. thanks alot

No problem. I myself am fairly new to some of these, most I've been aware of for quite a while but never really had any use for them until I started downloading torrents. There's always a few file extensions that you've probably never encountered before or sometimes even heard of, like the Matroska(MKV/MKA, video and audio). If you haven't tried to download a movie in that file format may I suggest you give it a try. The quality, both video and audio are quite amazing for being such a small file size. I think about 85-90% of the movies I've gotten lately have been matroska and I'm really pleased with them.
