Sorry to say, but DeWalts' are terrible in ported boxes, I'd go with a sealed enclosure.:D

Figured it wouldnt matter as much in a ported box...It matters more actually. Did you build the box to spec or did you just throw something together (please tell me it was built to spec...ported subs can be very uncontrolled if the box is built wrong...which can lead to sub failure)

Not bad, I do hope you caulked the seems (yes, it is VERY important to do that on a ported enclosure too, more so than a sealed one actually)

I always worry when I see ported boxes though, as many people (in their heads) think that they can use a smaller box since its ported, which you and I know is completely incorrect.

IMO, sub boxes take up too much room.
I took the enormous enclosure w/ the 10" out of my M5's trunk and replaced it with an 8" cavity-molded-fiberglass enclosure under the rear bench.
Not as loud, but adds a nice bit of punch to most of what I listen to.. and it doesn't take up 40% of my trunk, and it doesn't slide around all over the place.
I'd be ashamed of myself if someone complimented my car stereo instead of my car, and I don't need to go deaf any faster. "Sufficient" bass, usable trunk. I like the combo.

I agree...but if you are going to have one, do it right (which it sounds like you did in your case)

and in your eyes that was a good idea and hell if i had that car i would do the same most likely. i guess its all really person dependent. I myself am a stereo guy id like a car thats show and sound instead of go. but hey thats just mean. each install has is purpose in is specific car. like i said if i had a guy were going fast in id do something small like you.
by the way do you have a pic of that install? i kinda wanna see that
