If you gave him $$$$, and didnt get a title. or at least a bill of sale(which doesn't stand alot of legal strenght, unless its notarized by a public official, I am not a lawyer but this is what I have heard) Your best bet would be contacting some sort of police authority and asking them for assistance or to point you to what to do.

Why would you not get anything in writing? That is bad business on your part. Sure it sucks that you've not received what you purchased, but you also didn't do your part, covering your own ass.

I bought a vehicle from a forum member on here, and I had to wait for the title too. But I got the vehicle up front upon paying and also had documents that were basically proof that the vehicle was paid for by me and purchased from him. etc. etc.
