ENEOS motor dyno test vs. other oils

I still say Schaeffer Oil........ I saw a demo, and got to mess with the Timken machine with any oil you wanted vs the schaeffer...... You would have to see it to beleive it, truley.... (i brought my own bottle of fully synthetic maxtron too so no trick bottles)
MOLY FTW........
The local sales guy is a big circle track guy and brought some mains from a 4 season old engine...... another you would have to see to believe

who sponsored that show? im not skeptical, ive known that was crazy stuff for a while, but i hate how every time there is a crazy review of some new product, they also sponsor the show, so it gives you a little doubt anyway.

As far as sponsoring the show...it was PowerTV, which I guess I cannot say either way if they were paid to do it or not?!?
The forum listed with the Royal Purple incidents is interesting. We at the shop have used it for over 5 years with no issues and we all were previously Mobil 1 users. There are a few factors that can contribute to 'sludge' build up, and I am not sold on RP being the sole factor. The day I see one of our shop cars, or customers cars with this build up and can prove that the RP is the issue, that will be the day it is pulled from our shelf!
As far as ENEOS goes, well I simply don't have any reason to believe it isn't the best of the best. I know it certainly outperforms RP, Mobil 1, etc...

lol! good commercial
I agree that it is a very good oil, and anyone that was big into bikes and quads knows Nippon is a very reputable name. But there is no way in hell i would pay $10 a quart for a engine that takes 6 quarts of oil. On a bike, sure, its only 1 quart or so.
Also, you guys that are using royal purple, that is one of the WORST oils i have ever encountered. You should see the nasty purple sludge that shit leaves in your motor. Especially in turbo cars, it ruins turbos, plugs up everything, and is generally just shit, quit using it. And no, these werent isolated incidents, it was happening to alot of people on the boards.
Gary
What bikes are you running that take 1 quart of oil? I know my 50 takes 1 quart, but my sportbikes take 4. Also, ENEOS is no good for wet clutch vehicles, so, no to 90% of sportbikes. -

GaryWow, really? My buddies turbo daytona locked his turbo up and he was using royal purple. Any support for this you can show me?

MOLY FTW........Until it loses suspension and clogs your filter and oil passages.

We should do a motor oil test on a car sometime when Andy is in town. Just so all the speculation on everyone's part is gone. I'd really like to see for myself to ensure that what I preach is the truth! Bring a 5 quarts of regular oil, Mobil 1, ENEOS and just see?!? That would give some HP numbers, but we would have to really run the oil for awhile to see lasting effects.

It would be neat to test the oil, but it would be difficult on a wheel dyno and a turbo car as there are so many variables that + or - 10 hp could get lost. I think the way they tested the oil on the vid was probably the most repeatable and was probably accurate. It just sucks when you don't know how objective the people running the test were.

Like keeping Air temp, intake temp, and water temp....... the same.
If a test was to be done, a stock car would be the best place to try and compair numbers. It has less variables that effect the performance.
