Recently sold my old comptuer but I want to clean it up without wiping the harddrive and starting fresh.

What are some good programs to download to use?

I basically want to clean up unused files/folders in the start up menu that dont' have a target destination. All other files & programs that aren't ever used (that are also not located in the add/remove programs list)

    Etc.

System Suite 8 works great in my experiences.

In all honesty though, you are much better off doing a low level format and just reinstalling windows.

Explain how you do this? I don't have an XP installation disk anymore.
And the reason for just cleaning it up is to leave some of the programs on there, I.E., Microsoft Office.. If I reformatted, I would basically lose this. Previous system recoveries have had me lose programs such as Nero. The files were there, but the product key needed to be re-entered and it was something that I didn't have.

Also, if I were to do a system recovery, a lot of the hard files would still be there (program files, etc.) They would just not work since they would be lacking drivers, etc. Since the last time I did a system recovery due to (a huge glitch/virus) I had numerous programs I had to reinstall.. Those that needed keys were useless to me...
