^From my understanding, it is more that the machine was not set up properly for the welding that it was used for. The splatter is material that could have been part of the weld. For the exhaust welding, its not a problem, I have seen MUCH worse work from local exhuast shops.

It had to do with the fact that I had only 700 PSI of gas left, and I was at the end of a small spool of wire(meaning the wire comes out of the tip of the gun very unevenly.) Settings had nothing to do with it, otherwise the weld itseld would look like shit.

i did those welds on with the remainder of the wire and a diff tank of gas that had only 500ish psi left.... i just played around with the wire speed a bit.... and i am no MIG welder....

LOL are you serious???? really now are you serious??

drrrrrrrrrrrrrr hhmmmmm that flow meter next to the cylinder pressure gauge does nothing

a cylinder with with only 300psi left is going to hold a steady CFH of gas flow.... it will stay consistent and not fall off till it cannot the support the level of gas flow you are asking for........... which is far far south of 700psi

lol god that is fucking funny...... we change all our $70 worth of shielding gas out when it gets below 1000psi because it makes my welds look like dog shit

I thought you go to NDSU........... pay more attention in the fluid/gas dynamics section of your physics class

+1.. I could see if there's a diff psi flowing, but amount left shouldnt matter, as long as it comes out at the same rate...
