Teaberry! TRY IT OUT!
-
my wife and friend went yesterday and then we all went just about 1hr ago. i'm not a fan of the chunky stuff in the bottom but otherwise it tasted fine. It's "bobo" or "baba" tea, apparently, not "bubble" tea (according to the menu).
the place is nicely decorated and big props for being downtown and open on a sunday.

lol I forgot to ask, but i'm sure they don't mind...
No, You got it all wrong my friend...
There's no dairy product... unless you requested..
It's just flavor powders imported from Asia, ice, non-dairy cream, and sugar. There's no tea, milk, or whatever you are thinking..No, YOU have it all wrong, and I'm not your friend...AUTHENTIC bubble tea recipe:
2 cups Thai icetea mix
1 1/3 cups sugar
1/2 cup mint leaves (optional)
1 1/2 cups tapioca pearls
1 cup fresh milkYour friend may not make it that way, in which case, he isn't selling bubble tea, he is selling shit that he can market as bubble tea because the yuppie crowd in fargo doesn't know the fucking difference and will spend the money.

I went there yesterday, it's pretty good stuff, who gives a shit about the perfect ingredient, try it, if you dont like, dont buy it again. loldude.. ingredients make all the difference.
If you're a coffee drinker.. you know the difference between powdered creamer, milk, and cream - as additives (and I might add, pollutants, for hardcore black coffee drinkers, those of you who right now are saying "black coffee" is redundant) - Wouldn't it make more sense to use the best ingredients, to make the product better-tasting in the end? Especially when first opening a place up. Aside from the usual 'good ingredients cost good money' argument.. since "if you don't like, don't buy it again" is how most customers work, it makes sense to hit 'em with something they've never had before, in the richest, most decadent sense you can. And then you switch to the cheap stuff when they're hooked, like all businesses do. :icon_scratch:
So anyway.... since this is the only place in town that sells bubble tea, there's no way to compare "real" and "fargo" bubble tea. They can use whatever they want for ingredients and hardly anybody here will know the difference. I'm not very picky about food, honestly, but I do appreciate when things are extra-tasty. I notice when somebody's used the good stuff when they're making my foods. Burrito without cilantro, vs. Burrito WITH cilantro, there's no contest.
I'll come right out and say I've never had this 'bubble tea' thing, and I don't really plan on trying it anytime soon. That's my choice. The pictures don't look bad, I don't dislike the ingredients.. just don't have any real drive to go and spend money on what appears to be a fruity drink with chunks. Also I notice it doesn't include any real food groups, such as meat, cheese, coffee, or booze. I'm more likely to go for the aforementioned sake drinks (ah, you got me, I'll eventually stop by). I think it's the mental image of drinking tapioca pieces that gets me. Even though I like tapioca. (I'm sure if I had a girl around who wanted to go for fruity drinks, I'd be there, though. hmm.)
recap Haven't gone, probably won't, the drink looks good, but not for my palate. I'll stop by someday. INGREDIENTS MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE, IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AS WELL AS FUTURE SALES. That's the point I'm trying to make. The better the product, the more people tell other people. And I'm not hating. The stuff's probably really good. Way to give your friends a hand advertising.
