The couple vids i have seen showed them running low 13's w/ intake, exhaust, programmer, and drag radials.I'd rather pay $50-60k for a Japanese sedan then $40-50k for American Muscle sedan.
Check out vids of the of 08 Lexus IS-F, bad ass!
There are also people who would much rather buy an american sedan than a japanese sedan. People don't always shop looking at the performance per dollar of a car. Personal preference, style, etc go a long way in deciding what vehicle to buy.

I like it but the 40k price tag is kinda steep. Escpecially for a dodge. 400 hp in the SRT-8 is cool but its 40k. It weighs 4200 lbs, and It gets the gas guzzler tax of 2100 extra dollars.
http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/challenger.htmlOtherwise I think its a good looking car.

i just wasted 1:41 on that video....and the point of it was....?????
im pretty sure my old tracker can do the SAME thing. will the USDM market ever come out with something new?? instead of trying to remake the past legends that were the staple of muscle performace, why not try to make a newer, better, faster, ORIGINAL, american muscle car.
i bet combining yesterdays style with todays technology is really hard. damn.

blah blah blah, same trash as always. i haven't seen anything significantly new come out of the big three to make me think highly of them. in my opinion, us automakers deserve to be on the verge of locking their doors. So they deserve to be on the verge of locking their doors because they haven't come out with a vehicle that YOU like?

So they deserve to be on the verge of locking their doors because they haven't come out with a vehicle that YOU like?sorry some people have present style. those cars had stopped being manufactured for a reason, and they should stay that way. they went down in the books as being very nice respectable vehicles. and the comebacks result in junk.
they are unecomonical to say the least. PLUS they provide a cheap way for a brutha to put a bad name on ANOTHER car. i dont like seeing 22's on a classic. do you?
so do they really give people a reason to like them? and have they come out with a new vehicle at all?? hmmmm...

they are on the verge of failure because they've been rehashing the same crud for years without paying attention to market interests.
i will grant that there are plenty of middle-aged men who want "retro" things to feel young again. personally, i think they're going about it the wrong way. if you want a gto, buy an original gto, not a new imitation. if you want coffee, drink coffee, not decaffeinated brown water loaded cream and sugar. when you want something because of the features inherent in it, your craving won't be satisfied by something that lacks those features (why would you buy a v6 camaro?)

What looks good to one person doesn't necessarily look good to another. Personal preference is a wonderful thing.
Uneconomical? How so?
Seems to me that they do give people a reason to like them. Look at the huge following for the S197 Mustang, the 2010 Camaro and the new Chryslers...

but was the mustang ever taken out of productiuon....NO
thats where you fail because you are comparing vehicale A (mustang), which has had a great run in the market, and has only been improved upon to current and future expectations, to vehicles B,C,D...and so on (camaro, charger, challenger) that has already succeeded and failed in their own standards.
so why not do as ford and improve on what matters NOW, rather than take 2 steps back and take a legend in its own and put a bad name on it.
you as a marketer and producer, would do better innovating and exploring into new and better things. and would fail as trying bring something back from the dead.
Uneconomical? How so?
well....why hasent chevy, dodge/chrystler looked into making a hybrid car. sure chevy has the hybrid suburban....but even so it still sucks down gas.
i dont think a 50 yr old man wants to buy a suburban just for himself, only to get the hybrid benefit. and if hes in a midlife crisis where hes looking for something sporty then why blow all that money, and then some on a gas guzzling renovated camaro?? it just doesnt make sence when its a lose-lose situation.
yes, personal style is important, but when personal style conflicts with what left in your wallet to enjoy what you want...it makes you think.

Chevy is making hybrids, ever hear of the Volt? Chrysler is on the way to bringing clean diesels over here that they have in europe. Ford makes a few different hybrids that are actually fairly economical. So the "big three" are taking steps, they just don't care enough to make a big leap and actually push these projects into the mainstream.

just as you said, they havent CARED enough to put them mainstream....are they scared of making money?? of do they think they have already lost the hybrid game because honda and toyota beat them to it?? they dont CARE enought to make new idea either...instead they dig up old great ideas and turn them into trash.
honda and toyota looked into future issues (like our gas prices) and now you can got somewhere without seeing a civic/fit/prius/whatever else they have thats hybrid.
in regards to the link, what stand out the most is the malibu hybrid has been out for some time now. yet it states LIMITED AVAILABILITY....once again. why not produce more of whats going to sell, and less of whats not?? do you really think the family man is out shopping for a corvette??
