well time for another update.

brought the car back to vip today

the trans is getting sent to andrewtech automotive tomorrow sometime and should be done in about a week or so. and the new clutch is going in as well. i think i decided on the act hd.

Already got the trans and t-case out for the rebuild. When we pulled the transfer case we saw some stuff that really worries us. There was some serious scoring on the ring on the t-case that seats to the trans. It also appears that the T-Case has gotten extremely hot because there are actual burn marks on the bearing surfaces. Both of those are pretty bad. I'm having the t-case torn down, inspected and go from there.

Also, we need to discuss what clutch to go with and did you want to do the flywheel aswell? We can either resurface your flywheel or we can go with a performance light weight part. A light weight flywheel is roughly $275 and will help with quicker revs and lighter rotating mass.

I know we talked about possibly doing a turbo kit or something later on down the line but I still feel that a single disc kit is the way to go. Something like an ACT HD or Exedy Stage 1 or our modified kit that provides for more of a stock like feel with much greater clamping force.

everything is spendy with this car. i kinda regret buying it now. but maintenance is maintenance. we will see how things are after all this mess is done and over with.

what sucks about it all is now i am stuck paying on all these drive train parts. and now everything else has to wait....a long time.

previous owner says he replaced the clutch (zac thinks good. i want the evo)

zac takes evo to vip to get serviced

vip finds worn clutch

clutch inspection leads to discovery of screwed snyros, which leads to zac taking evo back to vip to get tranny rebuilt and clutch replaced.

tranny removal leads to discovery of screwed t-case.

inspection of t-case leads to discovery of burn bearings and ridiculous scoring due to lack of care by previous owner.

so in the end the car is at vip with no tranny and t case. they are both at andrewtech getting rebuilt. and new act hd clutch with competition 14 lb flywheel.

but on the bright side when evo goes in again for the turbo kit. i wont hafta worry about drive train parts!!! for a while atleast.

well i got the car back last thurdsay and i just finished breaking in the trans. im going back to VIP tomorrow for the follow up. the car already drive a million times better than before, and i havent even built a pound of boost since i got it back.
