The only problem for us is, we're already taking quite a while to go to the DSM Shootout, and this would be immediatley after it.

I understand. Its a lot of driving to do the shootout and the All Mitsu Cookout. Of course not all DSM and Mitsu owners are going to the Shootout. I wish there could be more space between the events, but its just the way it worked out this year.

      Hey everyone,

I've finalized the categories for the All Mitsu Cookout. Here they are:

      Best 90-94 DSM
      Best 95-99 DSM
      Best 00+ Eclipse/Stratus coupe
      Best 91-93 3/S
      Best 94-99 3/S
      Best Evo *
Best Classic Mitsu (89 and older)
      Best Other Mitsu *
The "Gene Helms" Cleanest Car Overall

      • The Evo and Other category may be lumped together. So far there are not enough EVOs for there own category.

We will have trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for all categories except Cleanest Car. That is only a 1st place trophy. All voting is done by the participants. So far we have 64 people signed up and we still have a month to go!!

      later,
      Curt

Well, if you get 3 or 4 more of them to sign up in the next week, then the EVOs will have there own category. I'm guessing we'll have a few more show up the day of the show, but I can't count on that when I make the trophies, so I need them signed up now.

Last year the "EVOs and others" were only 6 or 7 cars, so with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies, you still have a fighting chance at some hardware.

              later,

                      Hey everyone,

I always keep forgeting to talk about the prizes for the All Mitsu Cookout. Brookdale Mitsubishi is providing a ton of prizes again this year. They are really stepping up to the plate to make sure The Cookout is a huge success. I know for sure we have a set of 2G DSM floor mats to give away and several sets of binoculars to give away, plus a bunch of things I don't even know about.

Jack, at Mitsubishi Specialties will be at the Cookout too. He sells some nice Vacumn hose reduction kits for the 3/S. He'll be selling those, plus have some vouchers to give away for free kits.

QPR will be donating some prizes too. They have some hose kits from Hose Techniques and might have some other goodies to give away too. Stay tuned.

I've also finalized the price of the Cookout. It will again be $5. You can pay the day of the show, but it would make my life easier if you paid in advance. You can send me a Paypal to [email protected] Make sure to include your full name. By pre-paying, it makes the registration process the day of the show go a lot quicker.

We are only about three weeks away now!!

                      Curt

                        Hey guys,

Looks like only Joe and Mitch are signed up from the Fargo/Moorhead area. Any others coming?? We are under three weeks away from the largest Mitsu gathering within 500 miles of Minneapolis. I've had a lot of sign ups in the last day or so. We are up to 75 sign ups. I'm guessing we'll have around 110 to 120 cars the day of the show. Its an awesome site to see.

                        Hope you can make it,
                        Curt

Show up with a Mitsu and you might. 😉 At the very least you'll have a full stomach and a chance at some great giveaways.

                              Hey everyone,

The All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show is drawing near. Its just over two weeks away now. We've got 78 cars signed up so far, and I'm still expecting well over 100 cars to show up the day of the show. Here are a few reminders:

                              1. If you are planning on coming and haven't signed up, please do so. It helps with the planning of the event and the registration process goes quicker at the show. Sign up form is here:
                                http://mn3s.zforcenetwork.com/list/?p=subscribe

                              2. Once you've signed up, you can paypal me the $5 registration. Send the paypal to [email protected] By pre-paying it also speeds up the registration the day of the show. $5 gets you and a guest in the show with your Mitsu and all the food you can eat. Its a hell of a bargain.

                              3. Bring a lawn chair and an FRS radio. We'll be using the FRS radios to announce the prizes and other info. You don't want to miss out on all the giveaways. There are a ton of them.

                              Thanks,
                              Curt

                                Hey everyone,

Only 11 days left until the Cookout. The trophies are made. They will be a little bigger than last year. We also have a ton of prizes to give away. QPR has a bunch of shirts and other apparal from Redline Oils to give away. Brookdale Mitsubishi has a bunch of stuff. Plus, Jack with Mitsubishi Specialties has some prizes. Don't forget that FRS radio, or you'll miss your car number being called out. With over 60 prizes to give away, a lot of people will walk away with stuff.

Also, here is a good map of where the Ellingson Car Museum is:

Things are coming along great for the Cookout. As of today we have 86 cars signed up. We are still on pace for about 110 or so the day of the show. Its gonna be awesome.

I've got a pic of the trophies. They are a little bigger than last years:

                                    Hey everyone,

The All Mitsu Cookout is almost here! Its this Sunday from 11am to 4pm at the Ellingson Car Museum in Rogers, MN. Here is a map of the location:
                                    http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=gv5HMup_0Tq57jPncdBtApt.pDj73wpBWZbF&csz=rogers%2C+mn&country=us&new=1&name=&qty=

We've had a huge flury of sign-ups in the last few days. We just got our 100th sign-up!! We always have more people show up than sign-up, so I'm expecting around 110 to 120 cars the day of the show.

Don't forget about the reminders that I keep blabbing about. Pre-pay if you can, fill out your car-sign and bring a FRS radio.

                                    See ya Sunday,
                                    Curt

Hey Curt, is anyone welcome to stop by and spectate (not eat or participate in the show, just look at the cars, etc...) I ask because I will be staying in Rogers w/ some relatives the night before the show and would be interested in checking it out. But, I don't wanna crash anyones party so I figured I would ask ahead of time.

Yep, anyone can stop by and spectate. We have a fair number of car enthusiasts that come to check out the cars who don't own a Mitsu. There is no charge for spectators.

                                        See ya Sunday,
                                        Curt

One last reminder about the All Mitsu Cookout. Its only two days away. I'm running out of things to remind you about. All the info is here:
                                          http://www.mn3s.org/all_mitsubishi2004.html

If you've signed up, prepayed, filled out your car sign, and remember your lawn chair and FRS radio, then you are all set. You can also pay the day of the show.

When you arrive at the car museum on Sunday, drive around towards the back. There will be a couple people there to direct you on where to park. We park in the grass lot in the rear of the museum. Each category will have a sign to show you where to park. Once you've parked, come up to the registration desk, and do your registration. If you've come to the Cookout in the past, this stuff is nothing new.

The Cookout starts at 11am, we'll probably start grilling the food by Noon. The sign-ups have just exploded. We have 111 sign-ups. Check out the list as of yesterday:

                                          Thanks,
                                          Curt
