QFMFT! Yup, when the V8KILLR, that bad ass corvette, and IROC-Z (ILLROCU?) reigned. The Monkeys would roll by rev'n in the Chevelle and Playtime Performance was originated. Oh the nights.
It would be great to return to those days, but as soon as Fargo PD banned cruising Broadway, it seemed like everything went away. I am all for helping create a safe/fun cruise environment, so if someone has an idea for how tintmasters can help, just holler.

or how about when me a max got pulled over for tripple the speed limit down 45th... yes they were very stupid decisions. but if i had to go back i wouldnt change a thing.
i got a feeling a little black sedan is gunna come back and visit soon. hopefully people arent being pussy ass's and come out to play.

I'm going to chime in a bit here too....the scene died because people killed it, many of them by not even realizing they were doing it.

The mod list required for your car to be "cool" is insane now. WTF ever happened to the days of bolting on that new exhaust or CAI, then rolling into the parking lot, popping your hood and your buddies saying "Dude, we really need to head outta town and run our cars....." just to see if the mod helped or not. I was in on the tail end of this. Now, custom turbo setups hardly get a second glance.

A lot of the people that comprise the scene now seem to think that they have the right to drive like fucking morons when they are in a group. I don't care how well your car can switch lanes repeatedly at 35 mph...I'd be more interested in seeing how well your car stops when you slam into a tree at that speed.

A lot of shops have closed down (internet sales anyone...and I'm guilty too). Autowerx, Type-R, BI, Road Sounds, etc... all had fairly loyal customers that would head out to the meets regularly. As these shops closed, it seemed their customers left the scene as well. Also, it seemed like all the shops would have people hanging out until the wee hours of morning. Now, we are down to one shop that does this and I thank Tintmasters for always being open to letting the other shops customers hang out, but the best meets were always at a neutral location.

Priorities changed. I used to hang out at every meet....then the my son came along and I WOULD NOT EVER CHANGE MY PRIORITIES AWAY FROM HIM.

People in the parking lots started acting STUPID. There are so many examples I can give of this, but the truth is that people do dumb stuff when they are in groups. (Again, I'm guilty too) right now I have no desire to be around people who don't respect the property owners wishes.

Speaking for myself here....I HATE cruising. I would much rather park my ass in a parking lot and talk with people, see what they've done to their cars, catch up on shit...this is the reason we didn't cruise tonight. I would much rather shoot the shit @ TM than cruise around all night. WTF point is there to cruising? Let the cops see a bunch of cars with a bunch of illegal mods? Who can blame them for cherry picking the cars out of a group like that...most of us have between 1 and 10 illegal modifications.

You know i have read alot of good point in this thread. But who killed it were SOME of the high school kids. Who thought racing by where we stood was cool,witch in turn got us in trouble. Then the boznians came.....enough said there. I remember when we all hung out at TB when scott and tony worked there,hung out at sherlings, and of corse the old sugar sand lot! That shit was awesome. The burn out comp we had in the back of sherlings, the mini riot where we tipped the geo over an zac ran that bitch over with his blazer. The old days are the old days, the "OG'S" in the game are either setteling down now and still building cars they love just to drive, they dont want to be around a bunch of teenie boppers,and douche bags who dont know how to drive. Anyway i try to make it out to the parking lot just to talk to some of the old crew,problem is theres only one or two guys left from when we used to romp is max, sometimes frietag, and almer. But none of the others...... Oh well i guess thats the way it goes, i bet in 3-4 years the kids that are rolling now will go through the same thing we all did. Also the POLICE have a very big influence on killing the car scene as well.

Some of the things the police do is right. When they come kick you out of TB cause people are doing burn outs on the streets and other shit. You know its going to happen. The more it happens, the worse things will get. There are just some poeple that either need to get some different brains, or grow up.
