The car scene

The reason Fargo sucks is because nobody cares to pursue what it actually takes in this hobby to make shit work. They run into problems or break something and they just give up. I've done so many bigger projects locally over the years and i thought about this today i cant think of any that are doing anything w/ them, they all just sit. I have SO MUCH TIME AND $$ invested into other peoples shit in hopes they'll do something w/ thembut they never do, now i wonder why i even bothered.....Every day we deal w/ people that expect things to be, made for little to nothing expect for labor to be done to little or nothing. 75% of the time local people who set up appts never show up, 75% of them time we get stuck w/ the cars for long term because the customer falls of the face of the earth or has no $$. For this reason is why November of last year we quit talking walk in's. Everyday i ask why am i still in Fargo..... One of these days i'll up and move shop.
i agree 150% my hatch was a total failure and at that point i wanted to quit. (untill moses sold me the ferrari) and even now when i ran into my trans/clutch issue i wanted to sell the evo. but its fixed now and im gald i kept it.
some people just dont understand that your either in it, or your not. there isnt really a borderline you can hop across every once in a while. when you modify a car you gotta hope for the best, but expect the worst. shit breaks, so what? fix it and go back and play. most of the time when something breaks, people upgrade to something better anyways. why not go play with the new toy, or show it off?
nick you should just move here. you and marti can show VA a thing or 2, about a thing or 2 :icon_smurf:

Really?u should know. since you contribute SOOO much right?? i mean your pretty the go to guy when it comes do setting up events and all. and you always attend.

i think what hes saying is if youre just someone that gets into the scene every once and a while, when its convenient, youre not really contributing. for the scene to work you gotta have die hards that keep making new projects and giving other people something to compete and look up to. ive blown up 2 motors now, one being a built one, and put like 10k miles on my car in 2 and half years but i keep coming around, makin it work.
which brings me to say that not having the real OGs of the old scene around is hurting it. they all had nice cars that i grew up admiring. having cars like that around is what keeps the competition alive.
and lastly i really dont think it helps how uninviting we are on FS. not so much recently, but 9/10 times when a new person joined up this winter we flamed them hard. wether they did something stupid or not that is why its always the same people on the cruises. were all too close on this site to welcome new comers properly. we hate to hard, cause were thuggin

sorry this whole topic tugs on my heart strings and junk. i dont wanna see the scene die because i think i might love you guys

You gonna be ok?
Yeah iv never gone to the track ever or have ever cruised or attended a car show. Because you know iv known you for like what a year? Iv NEVER done anything before then.

El oh el at the love/hate relationship.
I've blown 2 motors in less than 1100 miles, and guess what...I'm on number three right now, and that was only over the course of 5 months that this all happened.
I don't see myself getting any satisfaction from anything else, and besides, this is what all my best friends do. So if I'm sitting out, then that means I'm riding in someone else's car and that just won't do.
BUT
It helps that I have the simple 240 to entertain me while I sink money into my other 240 that hasn't run in over 2 years.

ive seeen you out once. i cant knock on someone for being busy cuz i missed a lot during school, and working while i was still living there. but like you said your not going to p10 because its a waste when you can see all the cars at kmart. you gotta accually go to see them. and the 2 years i spent out to idr at every street legal day and most of the tnt days, i didnt see you there. you didnt take my post for what it was, and thats fine with me.
but as far as you contributing to the scene....when was the last event you went to?? or the last cruise you went to??

i dont get balls deep in the cruises and other events becuase i just tend to get bored with slow show cars. not many people around here are even bothering to put time into their cars unless its to looks good at the ONE local show we have. im not into show cars i like racing and it seems that most people are just out to look good in their car.we need to bring back the glory days when people would actually mod their cars then ACTUALLY RACE
i wanna see rust ass ef hatches with gsr swaps and decent turbos kits, flat black with 4 mismatching wheels. id hangout with that guy
+1:mad:

I can only assume you are joking.
Well thats part of the problem if people are more interested in that than cars, but to each his own.
