    Hey everyone!

I'm coming down to Fargo with the girlfriend on the last weekend of the month, and am wondering if there are any beaches nearby.

I'd prefer something around Fargo, or a close drive to Fargo, but will settle on something in minnesota. I could check the internet but I'd prefer to hear from all of you!

    Thanks!

Middle Cormorant is only about 30minutes away and there is a public beach on the lake, but for ease of getting there, Detroit Lakes is your best bet, unless you don't like crowds.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

+1 for Detroit Lakes. There are 100's of other lakes but Detroit Lakes is the best place with a beach to visit if you're from out of town.

                youre on i-29...

                take i-94 east towards minneapolis

go into moorhead minnesota, take exit 6(highway 336) and head north after the loop around...(hang a right at the end of the loop)

go north for about 3 miles till you hit high way 10...take highway 10 east ALL the way to Detroit lakes..

Dont get off 10, it'll take you right into the city of DL, once you get into it, take a right at I believe its the 2nd stop light, a.k.a. washington ave. and follow it right up to the lake. It's got parking on the side of the street and you just walk to the beach.

I recommend Zorbaz food once you're there.

I will further his Zorbaz recommendation by saying if you like hamburger, bacon, etc on your pizza, try "The Bun" pizza. It's like $20 for a large but holy shit it's awesome. Or the nachos are always a safe bet too!

Okay thanks for all the info! Now, i've got another question...

Are there any 18+ bars in Fargo? Damn the US for having to be 21! (I'm 21, but the gf is 20) 😞

No 18+ bars here any more. There's some place that advertises on the radio for people under 21 to hang out at, apparently they serve stuff to drink there.

Islands MAY have 18+ while you're here. I know they used to, but I'm not too familiar with them.

Islands is on the southeast side of the "strip"(street that goes along the beach, continues from Washington Ave), keep following it around past the lake, on the left hand side. If anything, that's your best bet.

Speaking of beaches, I really enjoyed my vacation off the coast of North Carolina this week.

What did I miss while I was gone?
