when I lived in washington there was a place called tatanka take-out across the bridge.. how's that for respecting native religion? I made the trip to tacoma a few times just for bison burritos. You wanna know why bison were sacred? They made good damn eating.. and good clothes and tools and decorations too. Using the bison as a school mascot isn't an insult - UNLESS you're saying the school sucks. That's about it right there. People take pride in being the Bison, being the Fighting Sioux, and you want to call it disrespectful? Way to go.

personally i could care less what a sports team, college, or professional team wants to call themselves. But i would be careful kids...us "indians" shoot back now. working since i was 14 yrs old has afforded me the relative ease to collect a few thundersticks myself.
