Sorry you were lead to NAZIOC before a local shop for information (especially a shop that specializes in Subaru's and has a swapped 2.5RS). I would be happy to help you with any questions you have regarding the swap, which parts swap easily, and which parts look 'so-so' after the swap (the interior swaps, but it is not easy, nor does it look anywhere near factory...seats swap, but sit up A LOT higher in the GC chassis). I don't charge for helpful information, so please feel free to call the shop or stop by the shop. We can do the complete swap for you in a very quick manner, or provide any/all of the parts you will need for the swap if you decide to do it yourself.

One thing I will tell you that you should take to heart is: Beware of Subaru forums....everyone thinks they know what they are talking about, and 90% know 1/2 of what they think they do. There is good information, but it is hard to find.

I appreciate the info. The interior is kinda important to me so when you say it doesn't fit too great in a '01- 2.5rs that makes me think the '02+ 2.5rs is maybe the way to go idk. I do plan on doing the swap myself however because I have the space/tools to do so, and I'm trying to keep the costs down. But you can plan on seeing me in there cuz I'm sure I will need some help/pointers.

How about you just buy MY eclipse and I'll buy yours 🙂

I'd be happy to help! If you are picky and like things to be clean/fit perfect, and FOR SURELY want to keep the interior, DO NOT swap the dash into a pre-2002 Impreza. Stop in anytime, and either Shane or I can be extremely helpful resources...

couple summers ago I rolled a scraper on a 4:1 laying topsoil

by the time i got to the rear engine and shut it off it had only ran for probably 10-15 secs. on its side

ran fine for about a week after that... then you know how the rest of the story goes

I should rephrase what I said....After a rollover, I would tear down the motor before I start it... Being it was driven the other day, I am not assuming it is fine, but rather that it has already been driven before a tear down. Hopefully that didn't create/further any damage.... If all sounded well during the quick transport, I would still not start it/drive it again until everything has been looked at and make sure all is well.

yea but his eclipse would prolly be easier to sell considering not many ppl wanna buy a race car. lol

And the car sounded fine when it was started, and aside from a little smoke comin out of the exhaust all looked normal. I don't know subies, but it sounded healthy. What could internally be wrong just by rolling it?

I talked to my friend who is a mechanic, and he said that most cars turn off automatically after being overturned. There is some kind of switch in them that cuts the fuel or something. I know Fords have an inertia switch that kills the fuel with any sort of impact, and according to him most cars have similar kill systems.

Talked to Elroy at Subaru today, and he said that all subaru's will automatically kill the fuel when they are overturned so the car would not have been running upside down. He said the only problem that could have occurred is oil getting into the cylinders and hydrolocking when the engine trys to start which could of course bend the connecting rods. However, since the car started no problem that obviously didn't happen. Therefore, coming from the expert, nothing is wrong with the engine.
