Ok...so now I'm confused

He was brilliant in that he was able to get the community behind a common cause of getting better paying jobs to an area that was used to only blue collar labor. No one before him was able to do this in that community. Was he a "great" community organizer? Nah, he just had the charisma to lead people.
As for the youtube video...yes, i've seen it before, but that was AFTER Obama started his campaign. As for what motivated him to say those comments at that time....who knows? I still haven't found one piece of evidence in the many years of video that were shot at that church with him leading the congregation where he ever publicly made a statement like that prior to this election campaign. That would be the equivalent of finding out now (for example....hypothetically speaking) that my priest that I grew up listening to all the sudden was found guilty of possessing child porn....does that mean that he ever touched me as an alter server? does that mean that he continually spoke favorably of molestation? Or does that mean that while he may have harbored those thoughts while I knew him, he never spoke about them until recently?

I don't see why the lefties are so concerned w/ the VP when their PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE is the one with little experience.Because, honestly, at McCains age, she could very easily be the next President, even before his term was up. She will cast tie-breaking votes in the Senate even before then.
Yes, he has minimal experience at the national level, but his political experience on a state level and his teaching of constitutional law to me mean that he has at least a little understanding of the laws that he is sworn to uphold.
Palin will learn quickly while having a HIGHLY experienced president leading our nation. Who does the highest person in power learn from? They should be experienced before getting there.....
Yes, McCain is experienced. Experience doesn't mean you are always right though. 8 years ago I was behind McCain when he was going up against Bush.....not because of his years of experience, but his track record of being willing to cross the aisle on issues that he felt were the right thing to do....now he is one of the more partisan voters in the senate (when he actually shows up to vote that is) and, in this voters eyes, has done this in an effort to secure the nomination from the republican party at this time. Flip-Flop anyone?
I find it funny that when it was apparent that McCain was actually going to get this nomination, the righties where in a state of disbelief almost. Several that I know said "Great, now our only choices are a liberal republican and a liberal democrat".

Find ANY proof that Wright said those things at the time that Obama was still attending his church (before the campaign started) or that Obama was in fact present when he said those things and I'll possibly consider voting for McCain. How about the fact that the church was selling the video of Wright saying those things in the lobby of the church while Obama was going there? I know he says he never saw it... I dunno, do you really believe that?

Basically, if we were all judged by the actions of our friends/associates I'd be not fit for employment by anyone because over the course of my 33 years on this planet, I was friends (prior to the following happening) with a guy who raped a convenience store clerk, another guy that shot his entire family when he was a teenager, multiple drug users and dealers, several girls who have had sex for money, people that have commited robberies, people involved in fatal DUI's....not to mention all the people who are blatantly racist that I have known over the years.
Geez, heaven forbid I ever consider a run at public office...I'll get crucified based on who I know.....which apparently means I think just like they do and follow the same set of beliefs.

Na, it would be more like a close friend that was an active KKK member , and you went to the weekly meetings with him but god forbid that you had any idea what was going on in that meeting.........
and that same friend wed you and your wife...... and baptized your children.....

There are what...5 mins of tape of Wright being an idiot out of how many years of tape??? Don't get me wrong, what Wright said is treasonous...I just have yet to see ANY other tape that was made that proves that Obama was present when he made those remarks OR that he agreed with any of those remarks. Produce that tape and I will show you a LANDSLIDE victory for McCain. Until then, no proof.

would you care to compare McCains attendance record with Obama's?

nah...I never said anyone had to vote for him or that if you didn't you were racist. That video does change my perspective a bit, but again...it's five minutes or less in more the 20 years at the church. I'm not defending Wright saying it, I just don't vilify anyone who attended his church during that time just because they heard it.
As for McCains attendance vs. Obama.... McCain has missed 412 votes vs. Obama's 295 during the 110th Congress.....meaning McCain has missed more votes than he's made it for (64.1%) vs (Obama's 45.9% absent)
As for the votes he missed.... http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/m000303/votes/missed/

Oh yeah...for sure. No doubts about that.

You really dont want to compare thier attendance/voting records... if you look closer you'll see that yes, Obama was there more, but he voted "present" on a HUGE number of votes, rather than "yes" or "no". Is "present" better than not being there? I dunno.
