Ring and pinion are still good. Yesterday morning I had trailer hooked up and ready to go, was planning for destruction at the track, not before. Anyways went for a short cruise before I loaded and felt/heard noises. Thought it was suspension at first. Eliminated all that and pulled the cover. I will put a spool in for the short term this week. Need to work on 60' times next weekend.
I need to be in St. Louis Oct. 15, most of the cars will be low 10's high 9's, a couple low 9's possible mid to high 8's

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall
Torque is how far you take the wall with you

So are you gonna go with the 35 spline 8.8 or a 9"?

I need to talk to Mark Williams. I have their stuff in it now. I talked to them about it last fall, built 8.8 35 spline, but will give them a call again to see what they have to say. It was pretty new for them last year, there should be some feedback on it now..

I am just going to spool it for the rest of this year to get me by. A new Eaton is $450 vs. spool $200

Hopefully, but not likely, I'll only need to wear it for an hour on Saturday and I can give it back to him..

Bill, why wouldn't you keep the spool in the rear axle. :icon_scratch:

When you go to a spool it transfers a lot more of the hit to everything else. The Eaton was somewhat of a shock absorber. It just took one hit one too many times. I don't think the 31 splines and or 1/2 studs will last too long, or even possible the caps in the housing.
