Well no, it will be a -really long- 4 years in office.

Obama is far from a socialist.
I met the Presidential candidate for the socialist party, and really, Obama is nothing close.
The argument that Obama is trying to redistribute wealth in a socialst way is way of base. Based on this argument, the Bush Administration has been far more socialist then anything Obama has proposed.
What just happened with the government bailout of PRIVATE SECTOR Firms... to the tone of $700 billion dollars.
So you argue that Obama has socialist by the proposed changes in tax policy set forth to the public. 1st, the $250,000 tax bracket and above pays consistantly less taxes proportionally then those who pay taxes and make less. Obama proposes a tax credit for those families making 250g's or less where if the tax liablity exceeds that of the credit, the family recieves a refund check.
Tell me how this is not really any different then any other social welfare program in place today.
Either way, its not worth arguing over, everybody here already knows who they are going to vote for, but the republican ticket sure has had an awesome track record lately hasn't it.... Marking obama as a socialist is ridiculous and shows a failure of understanding of fundamentals of both a capitalism and socialism alike. Obama has no proposed action to kill any sort of private party interaction, no plans for government take over of any sort of means of production... issuing tax credits (taxes made from private party interactions) is NOT being a socialist in any form of the word.

^ EXACTLY
Obama is simply adjusting the tax brackets...he's not inventing the tax bracket. The rich are gonna be paying similar tax percentages that they were in the 90s...and someone tell me we're better off now than then.
I don't know if you guys support the trickle down effect or what. It sounds good on paper but is a proven failure.

What I think will be funny is WHEN, not if, but WHEN Obama is president and EVERYONE thinks the world is going to fall on it's face and things straighten out, like they always do under either party...then what is everyone going to bitch about? I mean, jobs weren't exactly flying out of this country when the last Democrat was in office, and his tax plan is nearly identical to that of Obama's...in fact, more jobs left this country under Bush than Clinton. I may not agree with everything that Obama has done/said, but I shudder at the thought of McCain (or worse yet Palin) running this country.
So, in 4 years, when everyone still has their jobs and the economy stabilizes again, I wonder what everyone is going to find to bitch about then...
