And as for the media, I don't listen or let it bother me, since they are saying the Polls are in favor of Obama, yet.. In reality, they are probably more neck & neck... But the media is biased IMO -- They even have done studies on it, basically how it breaks down is that Obama has twice as many good comments towards him and half as many negatives of McCain. ---
And I have thought about the trickle down effect... When Bigger businesses are getting taxed more, so they have to cut spending to make up for their losses --- That could mean more people jobless.. I don't know about you, but the Govt. doesn't give me paychecks, my employer does.
Since about 80% of the population is middle class, it would make most sense for Obama to push to ensure he is supportive of them. They will make up a large portion of the voting population.
However, the idea of giving the middle-class more tax breaks -- means they will be spending more.. But I think with an economy in recession, a lot of middle class people will be very conservative.. Look at the gas prices... Global demand drops considerably, pushing prices to lows that we haven't seen since 2005... It probably won't be rising anytime real soon since most people have accustomed to taking public transportation, ride-sharing, or any other way of saving on gasoline such as hybrids. I think the same will go for spending... The middle class may not go right on out & spend money when they are seeing a little tax break here/there... If it was a bigger lump sum all at once.. It would be more effective I would think. Like the $600 rebate checks we got last May... Larger sum -- since we can go out & maybe buy something nice.. $25 here/there won't make a significant difference to our spending habits.
Overtime, I think with the recession, other prices will drop since demand will be down, and a bigger factor into pricing was gasoline for transportation of goods... Either way, I believe we hit rock bottom and our on a uphill walk back to a normal economy -- there is no simple quick fix..
Anyone here been listening to how Palin plans to run for 2012 if McCain loses? That would be interesting.. I wonder if Hillary will run again if McCain/Palin win..?
