thrash, since your so well versed in the english language you should apply the words irony and satire to the posts which you find offensive. perhaps it will save you half an hour trying to defend yourself from something that has absolutely no malicious intent or merit. believe it or not, not everyone on here is actually trying to prove something by arguing/debating/etc. some of us log on here simply to see if the internet really IS serious business.

Basically he wants the fed gov't to cover catastrophic health problems...basically a re-insurance (like FDIC or any other disaster relief program) that would cover you when your insurance has reached its limits. Yes, this is a very simplistic view of how his plan is laid out, but I'm trying to summarize it.

One issue people up here have when thinking of $250K/yr income is that 250K is NOTHING in cities like LA/NY. Just a quick comparison, families making $250K in SanFran would only need $135K here to maintain the same living style (http://www.bankrate.com/brm/movecalc.asp?a=0&d1=250000&d2=173.637575043401&d3=93.7512824653305)
Now imagine other places like LA, Manhattan, parts of Texas, Florida, etc etc. These are large populations that require a LOT more money to maintain the same lifestyle as they would here...
