Front License Plate law, lets get rid of it.
-
Actually, you only have to have one on the back. I have seen many cases where there is no plate on the front. For example, I had a 2002 Nissan Frontier CC, I had dealer plates on the front for a long time, and just my regular plates on the back, never got pulled over, never got warned, never got a ticket for it, and as far as I know and knew, you do only have to have one on the back. My buddies dad has a F-150, and he has had a dealer plate on the front for like 3 years. Some other poeple I know have had like a counrty flag and some other logo crap on it. I don't think they even pull most over for it, just the riced out nerds with a huge body kit and no front plate, is going to get noticed, and they hate those cars, so they might try to get you for it. So if that is the law to have one, they don't enforce it, unless you grab their attention, or your speeding, or doing something else to get pulled over, and their like hey, I think I will tack that on as well. I signed up.

i've driven my car without a front plate for 2 years, and finally got pulled over for it in june (maybe may?). i wasn't speeding, racing, illegally changing lanes, etc... just turning onto the interstate. the cop made a u-turn to follow me onto the interstate and pulled me over on the off-ramp going north onto main.

yea they have pulled over my friend with the green eclipse spyder 2 times now for not having a front plate i think its the green paint =o

Up here in Willisotn the City cops dont give a shit about the front plate. But the highway patrol and state patrol pull you over ALL THE TIME.
And then they of course give you a ticket for no seatbelt also, such bullshit. If you are 18+ it is YOUR choice to wear a seatbelt, there is no way in hell that law can be consitutional.

I've been warned twice for having no front license plate. The second time a state trooper pulled me over specifically for that and said next time I get pulled over I will get cited for it. As for the seatbelt law that is because seat belts save lives. I don't think wearing a seatbelt should be optional. If they're uncomfortable there are certainly ways to make it more comfortable.

I disagree on the seatbelt thing. However, I wear mine everywhere.
A friend of mine rolled a car in bismarck and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle hit a tree about 8 feet high in the air crushing the vehicle before it came back down. They said if he had been wearing his seatbelt he would have more than likely died due to being crushed by the tree.
Seatbelts IMHO are a 50/50 deal. Sometimes they're great, sometimes they're not so great. However I feel much safer w/ an 8pt rollbar and a 5 pt harness than I do w/ just a regular seatbelt and no cage.

i've read several threads online about how seatbelts should be optional for those 18 and older. you know, you're an adult, your life is your problem... it was especially argued by some women that say the seatbelt makes them uncomfortable and distracted from driving because they have to keep adjusting it (for obvious reasons). not that i have to worry, i wear my seatbelt everywhere as well, it's just a force of habit.

I can understand the law for minors because they obviously shouldnt make alot of choices on their own at that age. But for adults this law is just complete BS. The only reason they have it is for the states benefit. $20 in their pocket everytime they get someone, and the only reason they care about saving lives is so they can tax their money before they get it and then when they spend.
Fucking government is so fucked up, there are good things about it also, but some things are just such bs. -
I thought they made it law that you have to wear seatbelts if you're in the front. Don't go by Jamestown if you don't have a front plate, if you pass a cop he'll go way out of his way to pull you over. Cops in Jamestown are some of the worst for pulling you over for it.

By the way it is true that you have to have a front license plate and also if you are over 18 you can ONLY not wear a seatbelt in the back of the car but the front you have to wear a seatbelt no matter how old you are
