The Hub has sucked from the beginning. Don't know why people make it such a big deal to get kicked out.

The bouncers there are just doing their job. If you had to deal with the amount of bullshit they have to deal with, and possible legal actions, you would be quick to kick people out too. I have a couple female friends that were kicked out one night because one of them bumped into the other, but they were both totally wasted. Did they do anything wrong? Nope, but they probably did need to be cut off.

I've had friends get kicked out of the Hub for being too drunk.
And I do know they've attempted to kick out some of my friends when some ppl have started nothing with them for no reason..

And the OP just asked them a simple question. Little childlish for them to make a scene about it.

I work security at the Hub, been there just under 2 months. I make more then 6.50 an hour I can tell you that. We deal with a lot of BS from drunks and people who are looking to get into fights. It's our job to help make sure that the other 98% of people are having a good time.

That being said, last month we had a change in management. The guy who ran Playmakers is back, along with a new guy. The sports bar (The Hub Club) will be more like the way Touchdown was in Playmakers, The Monkey Bar will change from Hard Rock to a more broad range of rock, The Prime will more then likely turn into a gaming area. Security in general has been told to calm down with shouting/overreacting to things.

To be fair to Security, we were told by former upper management to be as aggressive as we were. We also have an obligation to kick out people who are overly intoxicated (the Hub can get over serving citations) and people who start fights or are close to fighting. All of this is to protect out patrons and our staff.

The only policy that I don't agree with is that if someone starts a fight with a completely innocent party, we have to kick both out. The way this has been explained to me is that we don't know if that aggressor has friends that will start more fights. We do, however, make sure the innocent party gets a taxi or ride home. Our management usually throws in a few free drink cards too.

Being kicked out isn't a huge deal. If you're over intoxicated we help get you home (in fact it is policy that one of us needs to stay with you until friends arrive or you get in a taxi), you are invited to come back tomorrow. fighting is a bit different and we usually will not let you back in for the rest of the weekend if someone recognizes you (if you were the aggressor). Getting on the banned list is reserved for people who fight security/staff, have a record of getting in fights with patrons or do something else that is to an extreme.

I realize however that some of our security gaurds let power get to there head. They get off on throwing people out and shouting at people. I'm not one of those people. If you are aggressive, childish, rude or disrespectful to a bouncer, how can you expect anything else in return?

Personally I look at the glass half full in life and tend to see the best in people, give them a chance to right a wrong, etc. If I throw someone out it is never from an isolated incident. I have only had a handful of people who were rude and none that turned aggressive. I'm here to make sure you are safe and have fun. the security that doesn't look at things that way will eventually be weeded out. Since our new policy has been enacted, several have already been sat down and told to settle.

Hope that helps. any questions for me? ask...

I much preferred the Monkey Bar the way it was, but they want to attract a wider array of people. We also don't have a DJ for the Monkey Bar right now, he is in the Cadillac Ranch right now (don't ask me how THAT works). So all the MB playlists are chosen by one of the bar managers. Hopefully we can find a DJ soon

The short bald guy with glasses that usually works the Cadillac Ranch? That'd be Phil. Cool guy, pretty much keeps to himself. Kicks people out at the drop of a hat, though.
