You will not be able to hit the button on a new model. Starting in 2010, the GTR will not come with launch control. GTR without the launch control is much slower.I wonder how long the tranny will last with out launch control....
According to the GT-R tech at our local Nissan, the transmission lasted an average 8 launches in R-mode. Some may last longer, some won't.
But about the 2010 GTR, they will release a V-Spec trim. Less weight, less strain on the transmission.
I always get a kick out of people dogging on a car in it's first year of public use. This happens often (although not to the precision manufacturers like Porsche) but it just goes to show that there are always kinks being worked out.
Remember the roof skins delaminating on the Z06 when it first came out? People are so quick to forget things like that.

12 valve cummins, with a smaller responsive set of compound twins, injectors, governor springs, head studs, built ATS transmission and ATS 5 disk converter....
run low 12's/ high 11's all day, everyday, on track or street
get 20+mpg
go through anything
haul anything
pull anything
and it never breaks -
^^ I love fast diesels, that'd be pimp.

Once you have a car with power you will learn.Check his old threads on his 370whp Si.......... If a 350+ hp honda isn't a traction problem IDK what is and he launched that car all of the time:icon_scratch: I'd be totally happy with a Gtr the way it is. Maybe whip it around a few corners at a track and the occasional 3rd gear pull show how it's the tits.

i would much rather have a car thats more cost effective than a new gtr.

I think what Jon meant is that I have had a car with power, and power would not change my desire to launch the gtr.True story

I see no threads at all about him ever having a 370whp Si......
I see like 8 threads about the 4-door grandmas Si, one about the "d-bag" in the gxp, intro thread(eg hatch with b16) and thats about it.
