When did being polite start meaning you're a pussy? (rant)

My all time worst pet peeve as a big guy is when I am in a crowd trying to get somewhere and someone smaller moves in front of me just because there is a space there that I can't fit in. Pisses me off to no end. So I usually say something or if they are going the other direction I'll purposely get in their way. I'm usually pleasant to people and for the most part they look shocked that I'm not a complete dick, I guess I just look like a bully or something. The biggest shock comes when you tell a bosno outside of Wal-Mart they can't park in front, I do so love that particular expression. A mix of "You can't tell me what to do," and "Oh my god the giant is angry."

I've always been a nice guy, i guess its mostly because I got picked on in Jr. High then continued growing after everyone else stopped. I figure for every 20 people who are complete dicks back, if one person smiles back or even says thank you it's worth it.
Sarcasm is definitely the way to go if they are dicks though. I've made more then a couple people laugh as well as a few get embarrassed or mad. Usually after they turn around and start to say something they realize I'm no slouch and leave. Being a bouncer has its fair share of dickheads too... but I'm getting paid to be nice then.

I used to get a kick out of pushing people around and being an ass but it gets old fast. I do always have that experience to rely on if people want to play it that way, so some good did come out of it.

i had a similar expirence the other day. (Wal-Mart of all places). I reached the self checkout line the same time as this hispanic lady and her teenage son. Being the nice guy i am, i let her go first. After they checked out and it was my turn the screen came up that said english or spanish. Her little bastart son comes back, reaches over and changes it to spanish thinking i couldn't read it. The part that made me the most mad was that the mother saw it, and didn't say shit.

It's because no one respects other people anymore. I beleive it is because there is no consiquences (sp) anymore for being rude. Hence why you get little wiggers walking around rude towards everyone. They know that nothing will be done about it.
Now, if you are nice it seems like you are getting pushed around by words and actions, theres is no way you would act on someone being a dick, or screwing up your order, etc etc
This is why you have to be smart with your words and actions. Don't walk around being a dick, but have respect for yourself through your words and your actions.
I'm always a nice guy, but if you are rude to me or disrespect me I will let you know. Thats not being mean, thats not being a pushover.
Nice does not always equal being a push over.

ok, so i Have GOT to chime in on this subject.
I have been in retail for a while, worked in metal fab shops, worked on the rail, and Bounced/Dj'd/Bartended, and lastly was a loss prevention officer in Alaksa.......which i dont care what you seen, you aint seen a REAL homeless crazy bitch, until you you seen a ALASKA homeless Crazy Bitch.
Anyways. What i have noticed, is that regardless of the people you deal with, and regardless of the setting, i always Assume that they are not Idiots, Assholes, Wannabe Ganstas, Or actual gangstas. Always. And how they treat me decides how i treat them. Even when i arrested peeps in AK, i just didnt assume they were a-holes, i talked to them with respect, and expected the same.
If they didnt, i was the a complete asshole to them. I would completely match their level, hoping that they would understand how stupid it was. Plus its kinda ammusing.
Usually they never got it. But it works, be nice, and if they are a dick, well then it really doesnt matter how you are.

I'm usually nice to people, sometimes if i'm having a bad day i'm crabby, but otherwise I try to help people out and be nice (I guess it's from growing up in a small town). If people act like dicks or are just pissy for no reason, then I usually just treat them the same way or worse...

That pretty much says it, I'm nice till you do something stupid. My inner asshole Is kinda like the US nuclear deterrent, my finger is never far from the button, but I'll let you go first because well, my button is bigger.
