Ok call me stupid but why drop a truck? Trucks are made for off road use and for moving in and out of houses.

Its 2wd and it's no good for off roading. But it is good for moving because you don't have to lift stuff that hight to get it in.

I want to stay with this motor because I've done most of the research for it and it's something DIFFERENT.

i wasn't aware that the laser was a 2.2, wasn't it a 4g63? And trucks could be fast, just gotta treatem right, the 2.2 is a strong motor.

if i'm not mistaken. i'm not referring to the 89+ laser, but the OLD one that looks kind of like a daytona. they were all made by chrysler, the 2.2 and 2.5 were chrysler's i4 powerplants... so it stands to reason that the 2.2 would be the engine in the laser

The Chrysler turbo motors have some potential; I'm pretty sure the 14 sec. minivan uses one. I've always wanted to find an old turbo Sundance or something for a project.

i stand corrected on the laser, but that was before i was born, sorry. That would be a fun project. Why did they drop the displacement for the 4g63. or is that because it was then made by DSM?

i've been looking, and i couldn't find any sort of code for the 2.2l in the daytona, laser, sundance, etc... i don't think any of us are in a position to wonder about the change of engines. my only thought is that someone decided a fwd sports car had to be made, so the g54b (2.6l turbo in the starquest) was dropped and the 4g63 came to be in a fwd platform
