2009 Perfect 10 Show
-
Lets just focus on this years show. The judges will not be the same, but in past years, some have been the same. It is very difficult to find someone kind enough to spend the entire show judging cars and not enjoying the social aspect at all. Chuck is the only person I can think of for sure that has judged more than 1 show, and being he operates a competing business, we all thought he would always be fair, as well as his honest attitude. Some cars will continue to win the same trophies, and most deserve too. Judging and shows always leave a mixed bag of opinions, and that won't change. Enjoy the show, enjoy the gathering of people that are apart of your passion, and show off what your hard work has netted. That is what it is all about.
This thread has already gone in the wrong direction, so I will leave this thread as the 'whore out' thread, but please...PLEASE do not do this in every thread I create relating to the 2009 Perfect 10 Show. Please.

That's funny, go take your stock subaru and bitch somewere else...Edit: Sorry for whoring your thread jason.... I guess its not my fault some people are retarded...

Allan Chan has judged 2 times as well.....and considering he had asked me to judge the show he helped bring to Winnipeg (DTP) I have a feeling he thinks I am fair as well.
But hey, if someone else wants to judge, that is fine by me (though I am honored each time I am asked)
Just be forewarned that judging is NOT fun. It is a damn hard job that is 100% thankless (not entirely true, the TM crew always makes me feel welcomed and appreciated). You have to try and be 100% thorough and judge a car on its modifications and quality...and then completely forget about it when you move on to the next car. At least that is how I did it. I never even paid attention to make/model, just car # and qualifications.
I KNOW that I probably made mistakes, but that is why there are 3 judges. And there have been plenty of times I've questioned other judges at other shows, so I fully understand that aspect as well.

Who gives a shit about not winning or who wins a what, 20 dollar trophy? I thought the message of the show was to get drunk and stare at chicks in skimpy clothing.
I won 3rd place subaru like 3 years ago and I dont even know where the trophy is now. If its that big of deal to the losers out there who dont win, you can have mine if I ever find it

I'll drink to that

Only if the drink is two shots of Jack and a Jack-Coke (and yes, this is on topic w/ P10...an inside joke, but it relates to P10)

Wow Kirk, I did not realize you were that immature. I guess you have reasons, none I will get into, for having little pride in your vehicle. Why is it not okay to want to win at a show? I know you do not understand, but many people spend years upon years planning their idea of the perfect vehicle. Sorry, to some of us it is a little more work than driving our car from the house to show, and maybe hitting it with quick detail. Honestly without the show aspect, or events like this or HIN, the aftermarket tuner community would be a fraction of what it is today. Sure every once and a while someone wins without a lot of work or effort, but that will happen. To completely dismiss someones pleasure in possibly winning a trophy at a show is extremely distasteful.
Why even bother going? I am sure you will be bored looking at all the "losers" who spent time preparing for the show. I mean seriously, you don't have places all over town to drink and stare at chicks in skimply clothing?
I also want to say thank you to Tintmasters for hosting Pefect 10 again.
With the rest of the larger show circuits cancelling indoor shows, it would have been easy for Tintmasters to follow suit. It is a luxury to be able to host a show inside!
Also for anyone planning on attending as a spectator, or as a participant should appreciate Tintmasters decision to keep this event local. Tintmasters had the opportunity to become part of a national circuit. To do this they would have had to raise entry fees, ticket prices, and worst of all possliby deny some of the local crowd a chance to show off their creations, because of space limitations.
After all these years, the hate for events like this still amazes me. GROW UP!

HAHA, i think he was kinda joking, relax......
This is why I don't care for shows that much, people get so damn worked up over shit.....Yes they are fun, and tintmasters does a great jobs, so thanks. But at the end of the day, if your life revolves around what someone thinks of your car, Im sorry for you. Racing has measurable results, so no pissing and moaning about subjective decisions.

I agree with you summary

Tony, I don't think he meant that his trophy was worthless, but rather that he enjoyed going and hanging out...winning a trophy was the last reason he entered and that if people are butt hurt that they lost, he has a trophy that he can give them.
