maybe you should get the facts straight before you start talking. That guy with the hatch used Krylon spray paint to paint his hatch. Also did you notice that IM NOT BUILDING A SHOW CAR. READ THE ENTIRE THREAD BEFORE YOU START TO RAG ON SOMEONE. Plus you have to realize i do know what im doing when it comes to cars. its not hard to bolt up a header, bolt up an exhaust, or do all the other shit the only thing i wouldnt do my self is a good professional paint job. Or anything that i dont have the tools for or any machining.
no shit it isnt hard to put a header on or exhuast. so how many cars of u painted before? u have exp in painting cars with a paint can?
and liek i said im NOT ragging on anybody im just staing the facts -
Yes i do. Me and Pat Schultz painted his conquest with spray paint before he totalled it. we did 2 hoods, gas door, Side vents, headlight covers, bumpers, and lots of other shit. We had the fenders and doors sanded and ready to paint and the next day he totalled it. Plus i was in art and i did most of my projects with spray paint and did alot of other shit with spray paint. I have also done a few interiors also.
You do many light light coats, and between each coat you wipe it down with tackcloth to remove all the paint boogers and dust.

ok, here is what i found out on ht also. here is the part of the convo.
SpeedingHatch (9:59 PM 1/22/2005): i used a quart of rustoleum flat black paint and a quart of paint thinner. I then mixed them together, and loaded that into my paint gun. Then went to town. In the end, I used pretty much all of it.
What is the point of mixing paint thinner with it?

if i remeber correct the thinner is used to help the paint sreapd more even and not leaving lumps and bumps in ur paint job -
if you dont add thinner to rustoleum paint it will not make it through the gun unless it is set for a metalic paint, which wouldnt flow-out as good and the coats would go on too thick, so in short he added thinner to get the paint into a sprayable viscosity

I do have a nice paint sprayer so once it warms up and i get it back together i will prolly use this idea instead of spraypaint.

How long can the car be there? I want to do my wire tuck, install my header, attemped to install my guages, install my MSD cap and coil, and of coarse paint. Is that possible to do at the shop?
Well if you dont care if it stays outside, then it can stay there as long as you want. The paint will dry in about two hours so no big deal. We have alot of tools out there so we shouldnt have a problem doing your "to do list". Im going out there friday so if you want to come along and bring the civic ur more than welcome.
