We finished the exhaust today, and the last of the beer too, good timing on our part.

I put V-bands on the muffs so yes, will be testing with and without.

Very nice looking welds! Props to 63vette. Cant wait to hear them.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall
Torque is how far you take the wall with you

Thanks, I appreciate that a lot. I am still figuring aluminum out,as is Bill.
Its easier but weirder than chromemoly. We are getting better with aluminum every weld.
I am building a positioner/rotator so the welds on the next sets will be much nicer.

Call me cooky but with the muffs aimed like that and the distance from your rear end, arent you worried about boiling your brake fluid hence hampering your braking from a fastasfuk 1/4 run? Or any other time for that matter. Not to mention the wiring you have running on the pass side. It's really hard to judge distance from the pics but, it would be interesting to see how hot it would get there after a good blast down the track. Just thinkin safety bro.

Axle is hanging, when on the ground the axle is 4" higher. Maybe baby turndowns but Bill wants to wait to see how much of a turndown it needs. Good eye though.

Its freaky how fast they dissipate heat. I put over 180 amps to it for over a minute when welding the hanger on and with a little air flowing over it, I picked it up after 2-3 minutes and it was room temp.

Cool. Like I said, it's hard to judge from the pics. I cant wait to see the finished product.

A little better perspective. Just move the axle up 4" and it would be close to ride height.

Yanked the mock-up motor last night and pulled the tranny. The tranny will be dropped off at T-N-T Tranmission on Monday just to be checked out. Ted does a hell of a job. Had him do the re-build last summer right after P-10. Had a few runs on it then had it out for other things and he told me to bring it over just so he could take a look. Tore it down, everything looked good, so I put it back in. Figured it was out now so I would have him take another peak at it. Anyways the motor should be ready to be picked up early next week. Still have a lot of wiring to do and some suspension changes yet. I still haven't decided if I am going to change gears or not. Either I'll keep the 3.27's in it or put some 3.08's in it. I did make a custom Tranny crossmember for it the other night. I couldn't get my little Miller 135 to get very good penetration so I dropped it off over to 63Vette for a little tig action.

Built with a cutting torch and a BFH

Got the motor back last night. Hopefully start bolting some stuff to it in the coming days.

Had them stuff some Oliver rods in it, they must have been a little beefier than the Eagles, it took 4 slugs of heavy metal.
