Neighbors of an 11 year old girl that was raped by a man on her way to school caught up with the guy the cops were looking for and piss pounded him. I didn't hear the complete story on CNN but they did say, The D.A. isn't filing any charges against the "Vigilantes" as the reporter calls them. Vigilantes or not, in this situation (child rapist, known offender ) they did good.

Not quite. Person in a high speed chase could go through a residential neighborhood and kill children who are playing.

With this case too you know some lawyer somewhere is salivating at the idea he might be able to bring a case against the vigilantes. Anyone gets butt hurt nowadays they sue sue sue and will try find ANY way to do it...just wait and see.
