I am curious to know if there is any type or brand of Automatic Transmission Fluid that would be better for a 1991 ford explorer 4.0L with 4 wheel? Very worn transmission. I don't have a clue if there are any differences or is ATF is ATF... and if anyone knows of any additive that works well that would be helpful too.
Thanks, gonna get some in the next hour so quick replies a plus:)
Thanks

MerconWhat is the transmission doing/not doing? I know a thing or two about the A4LD
My transmission is SHOT!! it has been for awhile and I have another truck with a good tranny to put in it, but have not had the time in the last year or two. But basically, it slips really bad so I don't have much for reverse. it will only start from a stop in 2nd then I can shift up to d or D from there. If you know anyone that can swap the engine and maybe the engine and tranny for cheap let me know. if they want I will just give them the other truck for doing it, after I pull the tranny out of my spare explorer I won't need it anymore.
