I've been thinking of putting a turbo on my 97 CX and was wondering how indepth it would be. I don't want anything too radical, something very streetable because I do need to drive it during the winter. Would I have to retune/chip the computer, or would the computer make the necessary adjustments to the fuel map and ignition curve provided that the boost isn't too high?

Call Straight Line Specialties and ask for Nick Tufte. He's got a nice SOHC kit already. And you will have to make modifications to the fuel system as well.

Yeah, i can build you a kit no problem. Daily driveability isn't a problem. Determining what size turbo you will wanna run will be based if you wanna keep A/C, PS, etc. That all adds in to it and the manifold design, downpipe design, etc..

The only thing i wont do is build you a "junkyard" style kit using all used parts pieced together (I.E. turbo, IC, etc.) because i've done this in the past and it always comes back to me when a turbo goes , it smokes, etc. When buying a used turbo if thats what you plan to do just keep in mind most cars they are coming off of have many many miles on them. 14b's for instance go bad quite often. So if its in your budget buy a new turbo. Other than that you should be good to go. But yeah if you're interested let me know.

As far as the fuel system goes a new fuel pump and pressure regulater is all it should take right? Well lucky for me my car doesn't have power steering. I'll have to think it over a little and I'll let you know what I decide.

well to begin find yourself an 8:1 or 10:1 fmu if no one in your area knows how to tune a 28 pin eprom or zdyne or any other standalone, and a 255 walbro fuel pump and an adjustable fpr is a good idea mabye some larger injectors

That is exactly what I've been looking for, something on the mild side, you know not too much boost.

There can't be that much difference between a pro-stock V8 and my rice grinding I4.

P.S. I'm not and idiot, I'm just being sarcatic
