what's a "through rock" A tunnel?
if you are running E85 in your 25+ year old stuff, you may have discovered that rubber o-rings and fuel hoses are a great fuel additive for increasing MPG.
you should be running standalone and modern fittings in your fuel system to run E85.

it can be corrosive if you just let it sit in there. but the 15% fuel in it keeps the rubber from drying out and cracking as long as your actually running the car. as far as fuel tank material that can be a little tricky because ive seen some older cars that cant run it becuase of what they use to line the inside
