If that will make you or Matt feel better by reopening that thread, go for it (at least we have the gonads to show who is posting, instead of hiding behind an secretive screen name). The main difference between the 2 situations are:
-
Our issue was directly related to a lost certification in the 1997 flood in Grand Forks. There isn't a form sent out to renew, and it was something that was overlooked. Poor business ETHICS, No. Poor business PAPERWORK SKILLZ, yes. Shane nor I went to school to own/manage a business. We became bigger than ever expected (Tintmasters was created from tinting cars in a home garage, to our current locations which we are already overgrowing...not an elaborate business plan and loans from banks). We became this successful from offering quality products and quality customer service.

The issue with MDG is that he continues to offer good products and good work, but poor business ethics. This has resulted in major inconveniences to us as a business, and our good customers (Brandon's RSX sat here for months awaiting a build from Matt). Brandons car sitting here for months puts a risk of something happening to his car, and forced us to push the car in and out of the shop, as the space his car is occupying was needed.
The hate goes both directions....Matt has always loved to attack us in anyway, and when the hate goes the other direction, it is 'uncalled for'.
We have many businesses in this area that are/were offering horrible product or service, but we don't thrive off hating on a competitor....but the hate Matt has directed to us in the past, became so old that we finally decided to play the silly games....Especially knowing that our good customers on FS are behind us and PM'ing us on a regular basis telling us thanks for putting him in his place.

very well put jason!!! I greatly appreciate all that you do for the car community, and the import scene as well. Keep up the good work guys!!!
Also im glad to know when im out at a local grocery store or wherever, the WHOLE tintmaster crew is always nice to say hello back or able to take the time and bullshit with somebody like me. I have great respect for Shane,Jason,Frietag,Scott, and Kyle. I was very privileged to clean most of their vehicles in the past and have thier trust to do so..it sucks that im not doing that anymore but someday..someday. Thanks again guys for all that you have done for me and the rest of the scene.. KEEP IT GOING

FWIW, Max just brought in the completed manifold for xracer, and I can honestly say that it is a masterpiece. I love the radical look of it and once again will say that Matt does amazing work... I wish the time frames were consistent with promises, because I would be more than comfortable offering his products to our customers. Stuff is nice.
