All depends on what's going under the hood...If it looks fast, damn thing better be fast. I have confidence that you shall represent properly, though.

    -09 Black Civic Si Coupe I/H/E/Tein S-Tech + FlashPro
    8600RPMs of ridiculously loud fury!
    -88 'Stang 306 Block/Cam/Gears/Pulleys/etc.etc. -SOLD ...then crushed.
    -04 SRT-4 Stage 2/Exhaust/Intake/Suspension/etc.etc. - SOLD ...then exploded.
Be happy I still don't have that car ^^ You thought my Civic was loud...pfft...

      Looks good.

Please keep in mind during your build that if you use a mandrel bender you won't need much power to go fast.

Yeah this isn't a 80's iroc z. Idk if it is just me but a smoother cowl would have matched the car better. but then again i use pie cuts.....:icon_rr:

I had to have at least 3" more clearance, so a smaller scoop would not have worked. The scoop and hood are both steel and bonded with fusor. The front is fiberglass bonded and bolted to the fenders with Maxim. I will probably eventually pop a mold off and make a light weight removable front.

I say an 8 for ricey-ness. Molded bumpers never look good. I'm sure the cowl is needed though.

Dont get me started.... 🙂 I moved a pile of stuff out of the garage today and started cleaning up. I pressure wash the garage so its usually just a two day project to get ready to paint. I am sure sick of blocking and dealing with all the dust though.

No i understand needing the room, was only mentioning the smooth/rounded edges on those cowls.

                                But it really looks good.

Thanks. I looked around a lot for steel cowls that I could start with and modify to fit the curves of the hood. Not much available so I went with what I could get cheap in case I trashed it cutting it apart to make it fit. Which at one point I almost did after having to pie cut it. It warped a lot when I welded the cuts back up and it took a long time with a hammer and dolly to make it usable again. The thing was a major pain in the ass, in fact all the body work on this car has been a nightmare. I am just glad its almost over.

I bought a cheap fiberglass bumper and nothing would line up. The flanges are terrible so no factory located bolts would actually grab the bumper. Both fenders were damaged right where they meet the bumper so they needed to be filled anyway. Clamping and bonding just made it a easier fix. Then drill and bolt where I could. It may crack from twisting but meh, its a racecar. I guess the one good thing about the cheap bumper is that its pretty light.
