        this is the most fail ever. Taking the entire rear corner off at the suspension side of things is fewer than 10 fasteners.

        If there was truly no way to work that thing out from the front, taking the whole suspension corner off and then getting at it from the back [or cutting the hub, for that matter.. as a hub + bearing assy is cheaper than the wheel.

          I had to do something like that when freaking all 4 of my wheel studs when completely loose and grooved everything out...lucky I caught it before anything really happened.

            And got lucky that you could buy a whole nother hub assembly for cheap.

                        yes..not sure if you have seen the bolt on a older benz but they had broken off right at the bevel and he had to drill everyone...some of them broke off flush but most of them left a 1" of stud before the bevel...he went through a ton of drill bits
