Lets see here...you're planning ahead 6 years in advance for a paddle shifter swap? Hmmm...Or was the reason for this thread was to be a bad ass and tell us you're getting a 'high-end sports car?'
DIAF
ok, you want shit? you got it.
If you could fucking read you can see that I said that the main question was not about some damn sports car, but more so towards getting paddle shifters installled.

If this thread was truely about paddle shifters then you mentioning you have a 5 yr plan and what it intails you doing has no reason to be in the thread.
You simply made a thread so everyone could read about your "plans to buy a high end sports car after school". This isn't your first stupid thread about something you will NEVER do. I honestly can't think of something you made a thread about that you followed through with. Besides taking free stuff for having cancer.
Like you wonder why someone gives you shit when ever other week there is a thread about you asking how to "turbo your car", or "i'm buying a 370z". Come on man.

Should I next start a poll asking if I should just go away?
oh and excuse me for taking free stuff for having cancer, yea that was my choice....low.
edit: holy fuck im havin a bad day....tomorow im really not gonna care anymore. So excuse me for myself right now.

Will, if you (and anyone else that responded negatively) would have just responded to the question at the end, then his alleged "attention whoring" would have died after the 3rd post. YOU are the one who is making it worse. YOU are the one who brings it up in every thread he makes/posts in. YOU are the problem, not Jeff.

if you take a few high angle shots of yourself in a mirror with "death is peace" written on your palm we will tell you where the internet is hiding paddle shifter information

I thought i was gonna graduate and make Bank, and mod out all my cars... Well what happened was it's almost a year later and still working the same job I did in college, just went to 40hrs instead of like 20-25 and went from $8.50 to $9.. and don't really make any extra money over my rent, student loans (really gotta figure for this, unless someone else is gonna foot ur whole bill for college.. I had over $10k saved up before I went and still pay like $200 a month now), and other things like food, gas, elec, and cable... only money i have for cars and modding them is what i make off buying and selling cars and hustling parts... I was just saying that ur most likely not gonna graduate and then go buy a baller ass car right away...

Matt. Even I have made threads and posts on what I plan to do. Guess what, not all of my plans go through and I even change my mind from time to time. Given, it may not be as much as Jeff here but it does happen along with many-o-members on Fargostreet. I have often thought "well, I dont have the cash to do what I originally planned, maybe such and such is an option" and then I proceed to ask those whom I think may have a clue. So, let Jeff ask a question without hammering on him. If you dont have a legit answer, then dont post. Its not that hard to refrain is it? Geez just let the kid be.
You too Will.

tl;dr post ahoy!
If the point here is to set expectations realistically to
- keep someone from doing something likely to hurt them
- set someone up from getting so discouraged that they ruin their life
then fine.
Otherwise, some folks seem like they're having a shit-on-JN party and it's pretty lame.
This is still the only country where a kid with 1 leg can say "in 6 years I am going to have an awesome car" and it wouldn't be an absolute joke. In places like Denmark, where there is a 150% tax on buying a vehicle, yes, then a kid buying an NSX is not going to happen.
It sounds like some of you have had some difficult situations, some of which may be the case inspite of all of your hard work and careful planning. That's no reason to shit on this kids dreams. If you're going to tell a cautionary tale about how he's got a lot of really, really hard work ahead of him, and tell him where you got it wrong, so he can try and avoid those mistakes, then please do. If you're here to be bitter about how your situation turned out and to project your frustration onto his situation.. well that's understandable but its lame. Schadenfreude is an ugly thing.
Here's my story: I had no car at all in highschool. My dad wouldn't let me get a drivers license until I was 17 because my grades weren't good enough. I met all kinds of people because of needing to bum rides

I turned some shit around, got a full academic scholarship to the college I wanted to go to, and before I left, I had a killer job lined up and waiting for me. The summer after I started my job, I bought my M5 with the money that I didn't have to spend on going to college. It wasn't the fastest or the best car or anyting like that, but it was faster than what most people drove, and rarer than cars like the NSX.
I got lucky because most of my life, I've been bright enough to never have to expend much effort. I saw the limits of that in highschool, and turned up the "effort" knob a bit and had things turn out pretty well. Having good genes, good luck, and good parents goes a long way. But there are people I went to school with that probably weren't as bright as me, and certainly didn't have some of the advantages that I do.. and they had better outcomes. One gal I went to school with is some kind of laser physicist PhD or something. She worked her ass off; I didn't. Another dude I went to college with, instead of slacking like I did, he worked his ass off. He was the L2 cache designer on several Intel and AMD processors that you guys use today.
I've met lots of people that worked harder than me and probably didn't have the advantages that I did, and they're doing pretty well.
The point is that while your systematic advantages count for a lot, they don't count as much as working your ass off and keeping your eye on the ball. There are no guarantees in life, but that means there's also no guarantee something will turn out badly. So, no need to hate on this guy.
The next post here trying to explain how JN isn't going to have an NSX in 6 years better show some hard numbers.

Well said, when it comes to something like buying a nice car there are a lot of factors, such as how high the car is on someones priority list, or how much of a drive they have to make that money happen. My first car was a 1987 cutlass ciera, POS grandma car that my parents bought for me, so after a few months of working I bought myself an Avenger in my own name, then when I bought my Accord 3 years ago, I knew it wasnt the nicest car in the world but I payed good money for it and really liked it so I didnt care. If he says he wants to get a certain type of car, who is anyone here to say he CAN'T?? I believe he started this thread asking for someones knowledge about paddle shifters, not "Hey, come shit on me because I have high dreams to buy a nice car"
