Looks good Max, but you should have bought a BMW if it is going to be a track car, no one else makes anything remotely close, especially no fart can Jap Crap.

I have a whole gtr front end coming on the next container along with a aftermarket intake manifold, injectors, and fmic kit(not sure if I'll use a fmic or vmount) I already have custom turbo manifold and dp just need a sc61 and engine management and ill be set for over 500hp which I don't want so ill tune for around 400hp and as high torque I can get.

Why does the legality of any of this matter to anyone besides Max? If he drives this for 2 years, with no problems, I can't wait to see the bandwagon. He is testing the waters for EVERYONE (that would be interested in a Skyline). If he fails, he loses a grip of money and we all know it wont work. Within the scene, we all modify our cars to basically come to the standards of Japan.
Examples:
-
How many people have modified their crash beam to fit a bigger intercooler/bumper?
-
How many have removed their cats on their cars?
-
How many people have non-DOT seats?
-
How many have cars lowered/raised out of DOT standards?
-
How many of our cars meet EPA requirements?
Point being we all operate cars that we have modified from DOT standards, to sub-par. I'm sure the first person in the area to run an open downpipe was scared, but after no issues, we all have.
Max has a unique situation. If he gets into an accident, he is screwing the other driver over, as well as himself. He will have to pay out of pocket for repairs to both vehicles. If Max gets pulled over and the cop happens to know a thing or 2 about JDM cars (there are a few that I know in town that will see that car, and know it isn't legit), he is going to have to export the car back to Canada (something he has already said wouldn't be tough to do). If what he is doing is 'stupid', then let him make the mistake....But again, I bet this isn't the last Skyline to get imported in the area if he DOESN'T get caught.
His 'stupidity' is testing waters for all of us.

Well explained sir. The only thing I would like to make clear to others is that MY insurance company will insure it under liability only which means it is LEGALLY insured. So if an acident does happen I am still ok. I do not plan on making this the most know car by fpd. I plan on taking it to the track, a show n shine or 2, maybe one meet and the local car show. If I get in trouble its my ass not yours. The only thing I can see coming from this thread on this site is people like delslow that doesn't really care for me personally and would see me driving it and call me in. I have the ability to export the car any second I want and it would still be mine. Also if they do find it "illegal" then they send me a letter saying I have 60 days to export they won't just take it and crush it. I don't care if you don't approve of my situation, I bought this car for me and to see what would happen when I try to register it.

I'm more concerned with you screwing shit up for ALL rhd cars, by going balls deep into scetchy waters. I know i will not be happy if i get harrassed in my legal rhd converted car because you just had to drive that illegal skyline on the street.
You knwo as well as everyone else it's one of the most illegal cars to "import" and really there is no way to know how this shit will end. All i say is don't push the cops buttons on this.

Well, I care a lot to see how this turns out since I'd rock the shit out of an R32 GT-R if I thought I could get away with it. I was just trying to make clear to anyone that might not know... about what kind of spikes are covering the torture dildo uncle sam will shower-rape you with if he gets wind of this and decides to flex.
If you insurance company is willing to write you a liability policy on a car that has never been crash tested in the US, and you didn't lie to them about anything when registering it, then that is awesome, and makes doing this a lot more plausible.
I don't disagree with the assessment that we've got someone pioneering something awesome. I hope it works out and that nobody gets screwed. I hope to be a lame skyline bandwagoner someday

I also don't think anyone could give a shit about RHD cars or conversions that were based on body styles that actually passed FMVSS tests and have US VINs. THis will have no bearing on RHD or RHD-swap cars.

No laws about rhd cars. But just so everyone knows that any rhd converted car has to have a saftey check after it is done by the highway patrol. If it does not look safe or proffesional they will not pass. (That's what the office just told me at the highway patrol office) so those of you doing/done the swap your car is as illegal as mine!
