Made more progress, pulled the oem steering column out and getting ready for an aftermarket column with removable steering wheel. Practiced a bit with the tig and got one side tacked in, a couple of my tack welds don't even look like complete poo. Got part of the funny car cage fitted.

If you can tack it you can weld it. Fire that welder up and finish it!
Good move with the removable wheel, its going to help you shoehorn in a lot. If you dont want your wheel to wobble get a MW hub.

Eh, I'll let someone that knows what they are doing finish all the welding. I practiced enough that I feel ok tacking things together but thats it. I'd have to practice a lot more before I felt comfortable doing the welding.

The hub I got is competition engineering, hopefully it's decent.

That one is decent not too wobbly. The loose ones are annoying as hell.

Little more progress, got as far as I can with the material I got. Everything is tacked in, I'm starting to feel sorta comfortable tack welding with the tig. Note to self, don't forget to turn the gas on. lol

Looks good Dave, gonna do a little rewiring while you have it apart?

Yep, no metal work to do so I started on the wiring today. It was a disaster.

i have to commend you sir that looks like a mess! i would be lost with that pile of wires and dash ripped up. i take it youve had it apart numerous times?

Wiring is almost cleaned up. I'm not sure where I'm mounting my switches so the little pile of wire in the tunnel is the switches/wiring for that. Otherwise it cleaned up pretty well.

Eh, I got it fitted and tacked in already and I don't think it's going to be that bad to get in/out of so I'll prob leave it.

More progress. got the dash bar in, and an bunch of the pipes that go behind the seat. It's getting closer to done.

The CM is pretty light actually, I took out the oem support bars in the doors, the oem steering column, etc so I don't expect the car to be much heavier than last year. I guess we'll see.

All the 25.5 stuff is complete and tacked in. Just a couple brackets left to add to the steering column! w00t!

You may want to add one more bar to stabilize the steering column unless its a very solid mount on the firewall, and dont forget to add a tab for the gopro mount.
