i'm not sure what else to suggest that would help to further the scene, but i think that a sliding contest would give the wrong impressioni think it would be a cool idea.

not even worth trying if you don't have RWD. You will lose.

I have what I would suspect to be a great drifting car but I don't know if I'm prepaired to put it through that sort of abuse. And if you don't think it's abusive look at some of the cars that slip up even the least little bit. It's a great idea but I cant afford to replace my tires after a track day.

if some sort of drift event were to be set up, i would like to see some sort of mid-sized curve used... perhaps even a series of curves. obviously it would have to be in a parking lot, so cones would be involved. before any event could be held, a method of judging would have to be developed, which opens another can of worms... but if it could be done well, with emphasis on really drifting, i would like to see it. finally, something to put the children in their place

I'd love to do it just to be able to get out and push the car just past the limit... But I'd never able to compete (hell, with an open differential I'm not sure I could even get the back end to do what I want)....

(don't think I've ever heard a domestic guy on my side of the fence say LSD....so maybe that's my problem )but yeah... I'd like to find myself a supercoupe center section (3:27 T-lok) to throw in the car. Be able to run slicks or DRs at ISD (can't get 'em clean if only one side is spinning)... see if I can get some consistency in my car and run brackets this year. ..And then of course it'd be much more fun if I were to hit Auto-x, and random screwing off... with the different differential.
(unless.... wonder if anyone locally will put together a 8.8 with new gears and differential for a decent price)

ok i feel that now one wants to participate because they bought a car and spent the money on it but dont want to show us what it has. but at the same time i think there needs to be sponsors and alot of publicity outside of north dakota, minnesota from what i have heard the only place they have real drifting is in california but i guess we will just have to see

maybe you only hear about it elsewhere because there are tracks in other places? where is there to practice drifting in this area besides parking lots? sure, you could try it on the public streets, but when you hit the curb... there's at least $500 in damage and a hefty fine, etc...
