Are they making a habit of that now? I remember seeing the video with funny cars last year but that was an exhibition pass i thought.
That was an exhibition pass last year. Zmax is the only place the "4 wide" will happen, due to the fact that they would need more four lane dragstrips.

It was fun to watch, but turned into a bit of a clusterfuck, due to racers having to wait for three other people to stage.......that and not being able to see two of the people you're racing against as you go down the track. I don't think some of the racers were too happy about it.

I know that, but this video was from last weekend. Are they making a habit of running 4 wide at zMAX?

I'm not sure if they are going to be doing it every year, but this year they ran the eliminations 4-wide. I personally think it would be neat to see once, but I don't really care for it as a replacement for 2-wide racing.

I know that.....hence my second paragraph about the racers not liking it. I don't think the guys that ran in the exhibition cared about the timing system. The racers that had season points riding on it did.

I thought you were still referencing the exhibition pass last year.

            Anyway...

When they run regular races out there do they alternate tracks then? Seems to me like it'd suck being on the wrong side (as a spectator) if they keep running down one pair of lanes.

It's drag racing, theres not a whole lot of "spectating" going on...maybe watching the timer. It's not like you're really missing anything sitting an extra 30'-50' away.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!
