1991 Honda CRX DX
-
Well its time to let this thing go, its been very good to me and now someone else can have their way with it. Here's some details:
1991 CRX DX 1.5L
Just under 173,000 miles now
Red and blackThe good:
35MPG in town, and 38-39MPG on highway
No typical rear wheel well rust
New Certifit front bumper cover
Good BFG tires
Within about the last 8000 miles I have replaced: water pump, timing belt, head gasket, valve cover and gaskets, resealed oil pan, distributor, plugs, wires, radiator, thermostat, yellow ricer headlight bulbs.
Interior is pretty decent
Fixed the cracked heater controls that are typical to these CRXs
Wrinkle red powder coated valve cover
Ignition keys are sweet custom Snap On screwdriver handles with the key mounted in there
Spare distributor goes with the car
Spare springs/shocks go with the car
Sweet ricer yellow headlight bulbs
Driver's door window is a 2 year old OEM Honda windowThe not so good:
Burns oil
Leaks a little oil
Paint is faded
Has some dents/dings
One broken bumper turn signal lens
Cracked windshield
Axles starting to click
AC doesn't work, but is mostly in tact
Sides of seats are worn out
No radio with it
Front edge of driver's door is messed up due to the door check being missing and the door and fender hitting each other at some point in time
Horn doesn't work
Hatch struts are shotI have been driving this CRX for the past 3 summers and haven't had any problems with it at all. It's been to Minot and Minneapolis multiple times. The interior is in pretty good overall shape considering its age, minus the sides of the seats that seem to always wear out in these cars. The car runs and drives very good. I've been to Minneapolis with it twice in the last 2 weeks, and at 80-85 mph it gets 38-39 mpg. Obviously the car isn't perfect by any means, but they are all pretty minor issues. I have had a lot of interest in this thing without even trying to sell it so here it is, up for sale. I'm asking $2500 or best offer. If I forgot anything I'll add to it later. Feel free to ask any questions. Here's the pics I have (apparently they are kinda big, my bad):

Have you tried putting it on crxcommunity?

I am interested in the car, but to be honest the price is too high. kbb.com lists a 91 CRX with that mileage at $550 in fair condition. If yours had a working A/C, and the CV joints weren't shot, I would consider it to be in fair condition. However, given those things (and the burning oil), I wouldn't value it over $400. I'll give you $400 cash. I'm not trying to be an ass or low ball you, I'm just being real. If you still think it is worth what you are asking, then good luck to you.

I know people who have paid almost $1500 for a non rusty CRX SHELL.Shells alone are worth that much? Didn't know that. I'm just looking for a small car with heat for winter driving so I can park my car. But hey if you know of anything like that let me know. Good luck to you sir.
