Anyone know much about CB radios?

We are in need of some new cb radios on the farm, currently we have a bunch of those shitty $40 cobras that you get at walmart. I was thinking about getting all cobra 29 ltds with good mics and external speakers. Also, i heard alot of places will tune your cb before you buy them? What does that include and how does that make them better?

Cobra 29LTD's are good units. If you are going to drop the cash on all new CB equipment...... You MUST get a SWR meter and tune your antennas, If your antennas are not properly tuned you will shorten the life of the output transistors and they may no longer transmit.

I havent talked to a radio shop yet, I should though. I have just been reading about radios on the internet and stuff and figuring out what will work for my applications.
