I preordered my Droid Pro tonight, just wondering if anyone else has had a chance to play with one in person. I briefly got to use the store demo at the 45th st Verizon today.

I love the form factor. I may try one out myself eventually.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

This might be my next phone... I'm torn between a big 4"+ screen and a blackberry style keyboard... I have a droid 1 right now... and I never use the physical keyboard.

after I played with it in the store, i went home and immediatly ordered one. Seems a lot more durable than a full touch screen with is the main reason I bought it. I'll text you one I get it tony, so you can take a look at it.

both are pretty sick....the pro has the keyboard that should appeal to the bb lovers...but once your used to the straight touch screen you wont go back.i had the first droid and after 1.5 months i never used the slide out keyboard. there are some 4 inch beasts on the horizon that will come out early next year when LTE (verizons 4g service) launches like the htc mecca and droid t2.

I had am original droid and as soon as I saw the pro I thanked the phone gods. Touch screen entry isn't the ideal way to send emails etc. For what most people who need a smart phone use it for, a 4 inch screen isn't necessary now if all you do is show your bros your high res porno forwards and watch youtube videos the big screen are hands down a better choice.

I'm gonna disagree. After having a whole host of phones with and w/o keyboards (Moto-Q, Curve 8330, HTC Touch Pro, Palm Pre, Storm, Samsung Moment, HTC Hero, and finally the HTC Evo) I'd have to say that I strongly prefer the touchscreen on my 4" screen Evo over the keyboard on any of the other ones when it comes to typing texts/emails. My second favorite for that was the HTC Hero. My least favorite was the Q followed by the Pre.

In short, I don't ever see having a physical keyboard on my phones ever again.

if you need to compose an email while driving and send it blind maybe think about restructuring your day instead of how badly the phone is hindering your success

Just got the droid pro on Monday for personal phone. Sold on this one due to having blackberry tour & bold before. Huge difference you will notice will be the battery life. Seeing maybe 10 hrs or less on each charge. Keyboard is set up basically the same with a few symbols located differently. HUGE advantage over blackberry would be the speed, application options, GPS included, an no need to be taking your battery out every day.
