2011 Tintmasters Street Legal Drag Race Dates
-
Here is the schedule for the 2011 TM Race Season at Top End Dragways (previously Interstate Dragways).
All dates are Saturdays, with the exception of the 2 day weekend which will be Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at 10am, with racing starting at 12pm and we will race until dark or whenever the majority are finished.
This year there will be some major changes at the drag strip with Charlie taking the reigns and running the show. Traction will be improved 100 fold. He is investing a lot of money into traction that will enable everyone to enjoy a Street Legal race day. There are other things you will notice around the track that will be improved, and we are very excited for this race season!
Even tho Charlie is going to add expense to each and every race day with traction compound and track improvements, we collectively feel it is appropriate to leave the 2010 rates the same. That being said:
Spectator - $7
Racer - $35Here are the 2011 Tintmasters Street Legal Race Dates:

We look forward to seeing everyone out this summer!

Too cheap. Tack on $10 to racers entry.I was going to post something similar to this. I don't think anyone would be disappointed if it was a little more expensive to race. It's worth a lot to have a track this close to home. Thanks for putting on these events!

Too cheap. Tack on $10 to racers entry.i think this is reasonable as long as there is a gaurnteed number of runs. I came a couple years ago, paid the 35$ and got to run twice due to the exclusive "bike runs" they did back then. Obviously there would have to be a time cutoff, as you couldn't show up 10min before dark and expect a refund, but if you could figure out some sort of number of runs guaranteed then i would say go ahead and charge more for racing...

The idea is to offer an affordable event to everyone. The people with the 'old busted' cars are the ones that can gain the most from these events. Perhaps they come out with a poorly setup drag car, but later find a passion for drag racing and their next car is based upon the sport. I cannot promise that these rates will remain the same forever, however with a new owner, we want to help Charlie gain exposure to the newly owned track and prove he can and will make improvements to make it a real track.
I hope everyone comes out and supports not only us, but Top End Dragways. We want to keep a track local and all of us can help build the industry in our local community.
Only a few months until the smell of tires burning, race gas, and lots of adrenalin. See you all soon!

Lol @ $45 being too much.
35 is a steal. 45 is a bargain.
What, exactly, in your opinion, is the correct amount of 'guaranteed' runs?
Apparently you never ran on a bracket weekend in the past.

you know what, i didn't ever run on a bracket weekend. What i was trying to provide was a little feedback from the exact kind of person that TM and Top End are trying to attract. I was there in my pretty much stock TII RX7 and it left a bad taste in my mouth being able to run only twice. I haven't been back since. They want to build up the local community and industry and be able to race twice for your cash would make most people a little frustrated with the whole thing.

Heath, that problem is fixed now. However, I do agree with keeping it affordable for all. not everybody spends a lot of cashola on beer/weed/pizza on any given weekend. And there is plenty of people that have to drive an hour just to get there on top of paying to get in. With the prices of gasoline going up the way they are, keeping it reasonably affordable is paramount to making sure you get as much interest and attendance as possible.
For those that think they should charge more, by all means, give a lil extra to the new owner in support of his new track.
