Just picked up an '09 Kawasaki Ninja 650R, lime green. I'll have to take some pics of it after I clean it so it's not diiirty.

Kinda curious if you guys still do meets on here or not? if so let me know when please, also was wondering if anyone knew any reputable sites for some aftermarket stuff for these. I looked at a few, but not sure as to their legitimacy.

any info is helpful, cya guys around!

sounds good guys, thanks for the info. I hit up a few smaller things through Wheels, but there are a few items I might want to obtain down the road a bit here.

Might switch out the handlebars to sport bars, and possibly a power commander. We will see how the bike handles with the exhaust I'm getting here, if it's not well I'll need to upgrade that I'm guessing.

I'm sure somewhere down the road I might get bored with the 650 power, and want to upgrade performance parts instead of buying a whole new bike.

                  Great!

Anything but sneakers, for several reasons..

                  1. no protection
                  2. you'll look like a goon w/ your jeans half way up your calf
                  3. boots function better (waterproof, additional padding that is easier on your feet, ect.)

                  check these out:
                  http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/36/1890/ITEM/Joe-Rocket-Sonic-Boots.aspx

I rode HARD with these for some time, they were awesome. Great functionality on the bike and off. Another thing I liked about them is that they look like a normal pair of black boots w/ jeans covering them, very subtle and not stupid "Look at me" Loud.

I had a few buddies ride w/ some heavier work boots (I.e cat work boots.. ect.). They seemed to like them as an alternative.

Work boots always worked fine for me, you really just want something sturdy that will cover your ankle in case you go down and are sliding. If you can afford to get a pair of riding boots however I'm sure they are more comfortable while riding or whatever.

I might go the work boot route simply because my work pays for 50% of them, but thanks for the info. I'll look into them 🙂

yea, prolly wasn't me, there is another ninja 650r around town. he still has stock exhaust and the rear fender on his, I'll have to post up some damn pics on here. just been lazy lately and need to wash it yet. If you guys have any days where you all cruise around let me know, I'll come out. Either that or PM me your number and I could just do the same, don't really have anyone to ride with right now. I'm always just out by myself, unless I spot a group then I'll try and join up with them.
