Stock Wheelbase Shootout
-
This thread is to announce an additional sportbike contest that will take place after the street legal races are complete on the Saturday(July 23) of the 2 day event this year.
First, a little history, for those that don't follow sportbike racing. Just like car racing, sportbike racing is full of egos and smack talk. A lot of guys think they're the best racer in the area, but with all the different bikes and modifications, there hasn't been a fair way to judge who's the best. All the bikes have different horsepower levels, and all the riders are different weights. In sportbike racing, rider weight makes a HUGE difference. Twenty pounds can change an ET by a tenth.
It's time to put up or shut up.
After the races on Saturday, July 23, Playtime Performance will sponsor it's first annual Stock Wheelbase Shootout. Here's how it's gonna work:
I've selected some of the best sportbike racers from our race series, to race against each other in a three bike competition. The riders will all make one pass on each of two 'qualifying' bikes. These bikes will be stock wheelbase and stock height. This will make the bikes very difficult to ride, and very wheelie prone. The riders have to figure out how to ride the bike in one pass. All of the riders will wear a weight vest, over their leathers, to make each rider's weight the same. We will average the ET's, and the three riders with the lowest average will advance to the final.
The final will introduce a third bike. Each of the three remaining riders will make two passes on the final bike. The lowest ET wins (no averaging).
We invite you to stick around after the races to watch the shootout, and see who wins smack talking rights for the night.
Here is the current roster of racers:
Dale Anderson - 2010 Unlimited Event Winner & Points Champion
Dennis Braunagel - 2008 Unlimited Event Winner & Points Champion
Brian Hotten - 2010 Unlimited 2nd Place Points
Ryan Hable - 2010 Unlimited Event Winner & 3rd Place Points
Bryce Pageler - 2010 Heavyweight Event Winner & Points Champion
Noah Metzger - 2010 Heavyweight Event Winner & 2nd Place Points
Jeremy Stensland - 2010 Heavyweight 3rd Place Points
Lee Briggs - 2010 Lightweight Event Winner and 2nd Place Points -
This will be interesting for sure.
