example: PSCA Super Street Car Nationals 2010-2011,both years had more crashs, blowups and oil downs that I have ever seen. Over 100 each year. No fines to their racers for any of the carnage. It is just part of racing and owning a drag strip.

Just my opinion,if a guy/gal is doing his best to put on a good show, for your spectators by the way, and blows up his /her junk. Then after they get their car off the track, you give them their fine. How fast do you want them back racing at the track, when they have to incur more debt by paying that fine. Might be the difference between racing 1 time or the entire season. Sound like lost track income to me. But what do I know. I have owed a dragstirp for 5 years and worked at it for 12 years and if I charged people a fine for all the times they made a mess on the track. I think, I would own most of the cars that race there. Not trying to tell you how to run your business. Just words for wisdom. Racers are a different breed.

I agree, racers are a different breed. I am not talking major fines and not for someone dripping a few drops of oil or tranny fluid on the track. Of all of the oil downs we had this season, three would have been looked at as a possibility of a fine (two for sure would have been fined) one was a big turbo on a stock motor, blew at the 300 ft mark and coasted to the farthest part of the track before even moving to the side, the other blew about the same time and did the same thing. Racer told me he had not done anything at all with the motor for over 7 years. We had 21 major oil downs and countless small incedents were someone dripped some oil, all of which I would not even concider looking at as a fine. I welcome anyone to bring cars to the track and push them and not be worried about a fine, if a racer completly grenads his/her motor and covers the entire width of the track in red line oil yet they get stopped and pulled over as quickly and safely as possilbe, or even attempt to. I won't even think of mentioning a fine. The amount we are talking about is 100-200 dollars, both incedents cost roughly 600-800 dollars in materials plus the down time. The small fine will not do much for covering cost, it is more to incourage people to maybe check the oil more often and if something does happen, at least try to slow down (break lights never even came on with the first one).I am not out to put people into debt, nor to charge every single person for one drop of oil on the track.

No bad. All good. I was LMFAO the entire time. You were priceless. But we are bringing a bad ass 275 car down to play this summer. Maybe something more ,we will see. I have alot to do this summer, rebuild my flooded house is first on the list. Then get the flooded race track running again. Then racing. So call out all the other 275 tire cars you know and tell them we will be ready and waiting. Anyone else to pic on?? Bill you are awesome!!!!

We already have one on the car. You will be able to see down track when the car does a wheelie again at the 1000ft mark. I hate it when that happens!!!

Will be a cash bonus to racers using diapers that win on bracket weekends, working on something for the other days to 🙂

I use a diaper thats made for a BBC, it doesn't fit the greatest but it's not bad. It will keep in 95% of anything that happens to shoot out of the block. 😛 I had to relocate a wastegate pipe to get clearance, that was it. If you can't get clearance for one, a pan would be pretty easy to make I'd guess?> tqisking;325816 wrote:

DJ has them under $200. I know Bob is back at Stroud so things should be better there, but other options seem better until they get their shit together again.
You still have to get it down the track.

Problem with a pan in my car would be the headers. and around the factory frame and control arms... As far as the headers are concerned, they simply just hang too low and snake around all the factory frame ...Oh yea they also are with in a 1/16" of the oil pan on the passengers side of the car.. the drivers side has the starter and the headers are maybe a 1" away from that... Now understand I am not saying a diaper will not fit the engine but it would be real expensive with the custom headers that would be required to make it work... so now that 85 dollar diaper just jumped to about 2600.. and you still do not know if it would even work... I did talk to TT about a pan and how to design in, he said that it has to go from frame rail to frame rail and have a 2" lip all the way around, which is fine but the headers are so low that I would have a problem sealing around that area... and honestly if I was building a containment device like that I sure would not want the hot headers trapped with the oil from a freshly ventilated block/oilpan if ya know what I mean... 🙂

Have fun running your stuff slow without one, hahahahaha. You dont need a pic of video of it ,I am telling you its fast as hell and if that one is not fast enough I know the other one is.
