Yup, he just endorsed Obama over Romney. Are you kidding me???

The Santorum camp later clarified the candidate's remark, saying he didn't mean to insinuate that voters would be better off re-electing Obama than choosing Romney.
"What he was talking about was that they're just so similar. You've got to have differences to motivate people to vote," Santorum spokesman Hogan Gidley told Yahoo News. "If there's virtually no difference between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, chances are they won't go out and vote."

From my link above:
Santorum added: "If they're going to be a little different, <u>we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk</u> of what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate for the future."
I don't think he could have been more clear about his statement, regardless of how they spin it after the fact.

Chuck, don't be taking quotes and half truths from looney left wing websites!
I will say tho, Santorum sort of has a point. As much as we have chastised him for his views, they've been consistent since before the election...

Sarcasm > Chuck

Sure.... Hitler was fairly consistent too "Blame others (Jews) for our failure and the collapse of our moral structure... blah blah blah.... The weak deserve to fail... etc... etc... etc...." Replace Jews with Non-Christians and I could be paraphrasing Santorum.
I really don't want a president who is that polarizing. I want one who has his opinions but isn't afraid to listen to other points of view before acting on them instead of blindly following his own parties dogma. Life isn't black and white, we ALL know that. With everything there is compromise until a consensus has been built that something is overall good. I thought Obama was going to be that guy (even though I didn't vote for him) until the Obamacare debacle. In my opinion, he pushed that WAAAAY too early in his presidency. Had he waited until 2nd term and actually worked to improve relations with both sides of the aisle, I think he would have had more support and constructive input as to how to fix the problem that is healthcare expenses. To quote The Fast & The Furious "Too soon Junior!" and that opportunity passed him and made him look stupid.

Hmmm... thought that last post would have riled up some people a bit more... I'll have to try harder next time

<u>"Sarcasm"</u>
<DaveH>: "Chuck, the turbo on your car is so small, you are better off running naturally aspirated."
<Chuck> "Wow, DaveH endorses naturally aspirated cars over turbocharged cars!"

I guess I didn't see it as sarcasm (santorum, not you)

Not if he ever wants another shot at a political nomination, but I don't know if he will be out stumping for Romney either. I believe that he feels that he (Santorum) is the only candidate that will do better than Obama.... I on the other hand feel like he is the only one who will be worse (unless Palin enters the race)
No sarcasm at all in my post by the way.

I could be wrong, but I think the odds of him becoming an atheist are on par with him siding with Obama.

I think it's just typical primary campaign antics, they each try to make themselves look better than the others.
There may have been sarcasm in this post.

So here is the latest question I have about Santorum. He claims that he will listen to the teachings of the church and that of the pope if he becomes president. Yesterday the pope said that the US should end it's trade embargo with Cuba. Does this now mean that Santorum believes that we should end our trade embargo with Cuba?
