I didn't know these things existed until there was a MNSubaru day at First Gear Garage in Eden Prairie. I think this is a really cool idea and would love to see one in Fargo.

Ever since then I've been keeping my eye open for possible locations, and the one place I had really thought would be great has come up for sale.

So, what do you guys think? Is there a big enough market here in Fargo? Are Fargoans too well equipped (that's what she said) in their garages to need an auto hobby shop?

pretty much. Around here any of us with enough money to blow on cars have our own garage and tools. The only real market there is are bozno's and highschool ricers. Then you have problems with broken tools, and irresponsible people

I have a "shop" to work in too, but no lift. When the time comes that I destroy my OEM clutch I'd be an auto hobby shop customer for the R&R...

And yes, you can do a Subaru cluch on stands, but it's a PITA...

I have a very well set up garage with everything i need (big ass compressor and all) besides a lift. But I work at a shop so that is not an issue either.

I agree with Gary's post, most ppl that don't have the stuff to work on their own are gonna be the ones you wouldn't want using the place and would probably mess it up. Only thing I wish I had access to would be a lift. Although I just try to never work on anything so i dont have to worry about it lol.

Found out some more details on the property - only 2 of the 4 suites are being offered up for lease, and they're not connected. So unless you could boot the middle shop tennant down to the end it'd be tough in that location as is...

I think we're all in the same boat - 95% of the work we do we can do at home, it'd just be nice to have a lift sometimes (except for Wes).

The guy I had in mind for this apparently already opened up his own shop in WF.

I was wondering if that was all one building yet. I know the East bay and part of the office area was used by FM Ambulance for a period of time as an outpost.

I think I'd prefer to just find a couple trusted people and split lease on some shop space.
